The first-generation Maruti Suzuki Alto hatchback was launched back in September of the year 2000. It debuted as the more premium and spacious alternative to the already superhit 800 hatchback. Now, 25 years later, the original Alto has become a relic on wheels. However, there is one particular first-generation Alto which is a serious head-turner. This Alto has been modified in such a classy way that it will drool a ton of automotive enthusiasts and make them want an old Alto.

This video showing the uniquely modified Maruti Suzuki Alto hatchback has been shared on YouTube by The Drivers Hub on their channel. It starts off with the host introducing this particular Maruti Suzuki Alto. He mentions that the owner of this vehicle has given this hatchback the name – “Alto Sport,” following which the vlogger starts with the detailed walkaround of this vehicle.

Exterior modifications

After the introduction, the host starts showing and listing all the modifications done on this particular Alto. This vehicle has been painted in the unique and loud shade of Canary Yellow. Apart from the color, the vehicle has been given a set of 13-inch alloy wheels from the old-generation Baleno sedan.

It also gets side skirts from the Stingray hatchback, which have been slightly chopped off and custom-fabricated to fit on the vehicle perfectly. Apart from these, the vehicle also gets an Alto K10 rear spoiler and a Sport badge underneath the Alto badge in the rear. Overall, the vehicle has been modified very cleanly and looks beautiful from each and every angle.

Performance modifications

During the exterior walkaround, the host opens the bonnet of this vehicle and starts talking about the modifications done on the performance side. He mentions that the vehicle still comes equipped with the same 800cc, 12V, naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 46 bhp of power and 62 Nm of torque.

After which, he states that in terms of modifications, it does not get a proper tune. However, it has been given a BMC performance air filter, headers, free-flowing exhaust, iridium spark plugs, and a high-performance ignition cable. In total, these modifications help to bump the power of this Alto from 46 bhp to around 52–55 bhp.

Interior modifications

Following the performance and exterior modifications, the host starts talking about the OEM+ modifications on the interior of the vehicle. He mentions that the vehicle gets an updated instrument gauge cluster from a WagonR, which came with a tachometer.

It also gets a Baleno steering wheel wrapped in black leather with a Canary Yellow Suzuki logo and stitching. Additionally, the vehicle also gets premium black leather seats, which have the same yellow accents tying the interior together. Overall, the cabin has just the right amount of mods and looks very premium, added the host.

After giving a complete and detailed walkaround of this Maruti Suzuki Alto “Sport,” the host started driving this hatchback. He stated that from the modern standpoint, the horsepower figures on paper may seem very low. However, in reality, this vehicle has a lot of peppiness to it, which makes it extremely fun to drive. He added that it handles very well and makes driving super fun. For ₹2.5 lakhs modifications, this vehicle is a blast to drive.
