First Volkswagen Golf GTI Delivered in India with Traditional Hindu Ceremony

The German automotive giant Volkswagen launched the Golf GTI hot hatch last month. The company, at the launch, announced that the deliveries would commence soon. Now, we have the video of the first Volkswagen Golf GTI's delivery. This particular car has been delivered to an entrepreneur from Chennai. He was seen taking delivery of his Golf GTI with an elaborate Hindu ritual.
This delivery video of the Volkswagen Golf GTI has been shared on Instagram by Expensive Cars Chennai on their page. The video starts off with a man performing “aarti” of this brand-new vehicle. We can also note that the vehicle had a garland on the front grille as well. Following this, another person (on the right), who is the actual owner of this Golf GTI, took off the cover from the vehicle. He then checked out the vehicle and sat inside it.
The owner who sat in the Golf GTI in the above video is Vivek Jayamaran, who was the CEO of Jaya TV and Jazz Cinemas. He is the nephew of V.K. Sasikala, who was a close aide and confidante of J. Jayalalithaa, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Apart from the Volkswagen Golf R, he also owns a Range Rover Autobiography worth Rs 3 crore as well.
This particular Volkswagen Golf GTI has been bought by Jayamaran, finished in the classy shade of Pure White. For those who may not be aware, the Golf GTI is only limited to 150 units for the entire country. As for the price, it has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 52.99 lakh. Its current closest rival in India is the Mini Cooper S, which costs Rs 56 lakh. The main highlight of the Volkswagen Golf R is its powertrain.

The hatchback can do the 0–100 kph run in just 5.9 seconds, and has a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout, and its top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
