With the advent of social media, content creation has become extremely rewarding. Short-form videos that are hooking, can make creators rise to fame or bring them fortune. People these days do crazy things to film reels and short-form videos. These often create major inconvenience to the public. The latest such incident is from Satara. Five men were booked for blocking the Pune–Bengaluru National Highway (NH-48) to film their newly purchased Mahindra Scorpio-N.

This incident happened on July 10, 2025. Five people- Om Praveen Jadhav, Kushal Subhash Kadam, Soham Mahesh Shinde, and Nikhil Damodar Mahangade and a minor- all residents of Satara- were involved in it. Jadhav had just taken delivery of a brand-new Mahindra Scorpio-N. The team was returning from the showroom when they decided to shoot some videos of it. They stopped the vehicle on a bridge/ flyover near the Bombay restaurant and started filming it.

At the time of filming, there were many vehicles around. The video shared on social media shows the Scorpio-N parked in the middle of the road. The bridge has three lanes. The SUV is parked in a diagonal way, blocking two of these. The left-most lane is free, and vehicles can be seen passing through.

The video shared on X (previously Twitter) seems to be shot on a drone. It also shows a guy filming the vehicle with a camera. A guy dressed in White, likely the owner, is seen standing near the SUV. Another man is seen trying to regulate the traffic around. Regardless of this, the act of filming brought the traffic around to a near-standstill for about 20 minutes!

The drone footage shows the long queue of waiting vehicles and the traffic jam that the filming created. The NH-48 usually reports high traffic volumes. It can get really busy during peak travel times and on holidays. We don't know what time of day it was when the filming took place. It definitely caused much inconvenience and pain to motorists and road users.

The video soon went viral and came to the notice of the local police. Strict action was initiated against the offenders. They were soon booked for blocking the national highway. A case has been registered against them at the Satara City Police Station, citing various offences. Some reports also say that the drone was used without permission and the youth would be held accountable for the same.

The cops also asked Jadhav to record a video confession, asking others to stay away from such reckless stunts and irresponsible behaviour. This was, in fact, meant to be a corrective action.

Another Shocking Incident From Satara

The place was recently in the news for a similar incident. In the Patan taluka, a Hyundai Venue was being driven aggressively by its driver. He was trying to perform risky stunts. The entire action was being filmed for Instagram.

Going by the video, the driver was likely attempting to pull off a donut. The Venue is a front-wheel-drive (FWD) SUV. Soon, the stunt went wrong. He couldn't slip into the slide, likely because the car's traction control wasn't turned off at the time of this incident. The driver lost control of the vehicle when it was close to the cliff. It was late when he realised the danger. Though he acted quick, a recovery was impossible.

It plunged into a depth of 300 ft. The driver was seriously injured in the incident and the car took major damage as well. The driver here, learnt his lesson the hard way and is currently undergoing treatment.
