Ather Electric Scooter Dealership In Bengaluru Flooded [Video]

Recently, Bengaluru, the city of parks and capital of Karnataka, was subjected to heavy rainfall. Unfortunately, despite being one of the major cities in the country, this city faced a lot of damage due to heavy floods. Just a couple of days ago, we shared how a Royal Enfield dealership was completely flooded. Now, we have found a video in which the basement of an Ather Energy dealership was seen completely flooded.
This video, showing the Ather Energy dealership flooded after heavy rainfalls, has been shared on Instagram by Bengalurunewstoday on their page. In this short video, we can note that the entire basement of Ather Koramangala was flooded. It was filled with water reaching above the waist of people who were in this basement.
In the clip, a few men can be seen rescuing a few bikes and Ather scooters from this basement. We can observe that the first bike was floating on water and was being taken out as a Yamaha R15 sports bike. Soon after, this video shows these men bringing out a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle.
Following this, a yellow-colored Ather Rizta was brought out, and finally, another white-colored Ather Rizta was rescued. Most likely, the bikes belong to dealership staff, and the scooters could be either brand-new or they could be customer vehicles.
As mentioned above, we also recently shared a video in which Koramangala Motors, a Royal Enfield dealership which is located on Hosur Main Road, Krishnanagar Ind Area, was seen flooded. In this clip, a number of bikes, including the Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650, Himalayan 450, and other Royal Enfield bikes, were seen almost completely submerged under water.
A lot of people who may be seeing the above video will have a question in their mind if these dealerships have insurance to protect them from losses after such natural calamities. Well, the answer is that most reputed dealerships across the country have an insurance called the Motor Trade Insurance or Dealer’s Stock Insurance.
This type of insurance covers damages caused to the vehicles due to natural calamities like floods, earthquakes, etc. Also, this insurance protects dealerships from heavy losses that occur after fire or theft, and also from transit damage losses or when vehicles are moved from warehouse to showroom. Lastly, third-party liabilities where test ride vehicles are involved in accidents are also covered under this insurance.
Generally, when such damages after floods are caused, the dealership will file a claim for all the affected units. Following this, the insurance company will inspect the vehicles and the damages and assess the cost. They will then either deem the vehicle a total loss or repairable, and depending upon the report, it will provide the dealership with monetary compensation.
If the vehicle can be repaired, the dealership will do the work, and it will then sell the vehicle. However, it has to be mentioned by the dealership in a disclosure agreement to the customer that this vehicle was involved in a flood, and it was damaged and then repaired. If the dealership fails to do so, the customer can file a complaint against the dealership for hiding the facts.
