Deliveries for the Mahindra Thar Roxx have started across the country, and we have started seeing several videos and images of it online. Many customers who have taken delivery have begun sharing modification videos along with ownership experiences and issues. While we have those videos on one side of the internet, others have started testing the capabilities and power of the Mahindra Thar Roxx. Here, we have a video where a brand-new Thar Roxx 4×4 SUV is competing against a Force Gurkha SUV in a tug of war. Which SUV won the competition? Let’s watch the video to find out.

The video was shared by Varun Vashisht on his YouTube channel. In it, we see a Mahindra Thar Roxx and a Force Gurkha three-door on a closed road. Both SUVs are lined up on the road. The Gurkha seen here uses a 2.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 90 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The SUV only comes with a manual transmission.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx, on the other hand, uses a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 172 Bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. It is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The SUV seen here is the automatic variant. Both SUVs align for the competition. On paper, the Mahindra Thar Roxx looks stronger.

They use a tow strap to tie both vehicles. Once this is done, they drive the SUVs a bit in opposite directions to create tension on the rope. Both SUVs get ready, and upon getting the nod from the vlogger, they start pulling the other SUV toward them. The Mahindra Thar Roxx initially pulled the Force Gurkha, and it seemed like the SUV was going to win the tug of war.

Gurkha vs Thar Roxx in tug of war

The Force Gurkha driver didn’t give up. The wheels were initially spinning freely; however, when the tires found some grip, things changed. The Force Gurkha started making progress and was actually pulling the Roxx. The Roxx driver was trying hard to turn things in his favor, but it looked like the Roxx was not responding to any of it.

The Force Gurkha won the first round, and everyone was surprised, including the Gurkha owner. For the second round, they prepared the vehicles again and once more lined up.

This time, the Thar Roxx was put in manual mode to have more control over the gears. Both SUVs started pulling each other again, but this time, the Roxx driver missed the count and pulled the Gurkha early.

So they prepared the vehicles again, and this time, they both pulled the SUVs at the same time. Just like in the first round, the Mahindra Thar Roxx did try to pull the Gurkha, but things didn’t go as planned. The Gurkha found traction and pulled the Roxx with it. The Force Gurkha three-door was declared the winner of this competition.

We feel that the traction control in the Mahindra Thar Roxx was interfering too much, which is why the SUV could not perform well. The Gurkha, on the other hand, didn’t have many electronics and delivers raw power when needed. Experience also matters in such competitions.
