Force Gurkha is a pure utilitarian SUV and we have seen several videos and images of the SUV where it is seen conquering rough terrains. It is not the most comfortable, feature loaded SUV in its segment but, it is a true off-roader. The SUV is often used by enthusiasts in the off-road community and several modification options are also available. Here we have a video where a Force Gurkha 3-door SUV is seen competing against a Toyota Fortuner Legender in a tug of war.

The video has been shared by Varun Vashisht on his YouTube channel. The video, starts with the vlogger shows some of his friends lowering the air pressure from the rear tyres of the Legender. This is helpful while off-roading and such competitions as more portion of the tyre would be in contact with the road and that would offer more traction.

They mention it in the video that for the tug of war, both SUVs would be in 4 low. The Force Gurkha owner mentioned that he won’t be lowering the pressure. If he finds that he is losing only then would think of something like that. The SUVs were lined up and then a tow strap was attached to the rear of both vehicles.

They aligned the vehicles on the road. It should be noted that they were doing this stunt on a closed road. The SUVs were lined up and they stretched the rope before starting the tug of war.

The SUVs got ready and as soon as they got the nod, both of them started pulling each other. On paper Toyota Fortuner Legender is more powerful and they were all expecting a result in favour of the Japanese SUV.

However that is not what happened here. The Force Gurkha started pulling the Fortuner Legender and there was nothing that Fortuner driver could do here. The Force Gurkha is only available with a manual gearbox and the Legender is offered with an automatic transmission only.

Legender vs Gurkha tug of waar

We are not sure if it was the traction control that was not letting the Legender driver push the SUV hard. The Force Gurkha pulled the Legender with ease. In the second round, the Force Gurkha pulled the Legender even with the brakes pressed. The Legender driver was surprised as he was not expecting this result.

Coming to the engine spec, The Gurkha comes with a 2.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 90 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Toyota Fortuner Legender on the other hand uses a 2.8 litre, turbocharged diesel engine that generates 201 Bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque.

There are multiple factors like the tyre and driver’s experience that matters in such cases. The Fortuner or the Legender comes with HT tyres which is not suitable for off-roading. However Gurkha gets off-road spec tyres. We are not sure if the owner has made any modifications to the engine of the SUV or not. The vlogger mentions that the Legender that costs around Rs 60 lakh was beaten by a 3-door SUV that costs under Rs 20 lakh.
