India is a country where anything is possible. We say this because people here can create things that sometimes do not even make sense. Most recently, we came across a video online in which a Ford Figo hatchback was converted into a limousine. Yes, you read that right—a Ford Figo has been chopped from the middle and extended to make it a limousine. Now, why exactly this quirky creation was made is something we are not sure about.

Ford Figo Converted into a Limousine

The video showing the transformation journey of a Ford Figo hatchback into a full-size limousine has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Technical Partha on their channel, and it starts off with a white-colored Ford Figo being shown in its standard form, following which the vehicle is taken to a shop where a technician can be seen using an angle grinder to cut the roof of the vehicle.

After this, the video shows that the entire vehicle’s roof and floor pan, which were visible after stripping down the interior, had the perfect line on which the cut had to be made. The technician then followed this line and cut the entire vehicle in half. We can observe that the vehicle has been chopped right behind the structural part.

Next up, the vehicle was segmented, and the two halves were joined by two steel bars. They were then welded on to make these joints permanent. After this, more steel bars were added on top to join the vehicle. This was done to give more strength to the body of the vehicle. Moving on, the video shows that the technicians were moving the vehicle to check the strength of the structure.

Following this, the video then shows another person hammering down a steel bar to make it curved. These two pieces were then welded onto the newly added extension bars on the vehicle to give a proper cabin shape and also increase the structural rigidity of the vehicle. After this, the same technician can be seen hammering a long piece of sheet metal.

He was shaping this particular sheet metal to create the side skirts of the vehicle. Next up, this skirt was lined up next to the original car’s skirts, and minor adjustments were made. Finally, the work on the side panels of the vehicle began. It can be noted that a strong shoulder line was added to another piece of sheet metal, which became the outer skin of the vehicle.

The vehicle was then given a spray of primer, and after that, it was painted in the same body color as the original car. We can note that instead of adding a metal roof, the car has been given a transparent plexiglass roof. The same material has also been used to make the side windows.

Final Result

Following this, the owner of the shop shows the finished Ford Figo limousine. He states that the entire project, from start to finish, only took them one month. After this, the video then shows the exterior and interior of the car. On the outside, it looks very rough around the edges. As for the interior, the entire custom-added middle section has been kept in its bare form, and no seats or anything else have been added as of yet.
