Privately Rented Ford Mustang Crashes In Goa; Was Seized Earlier! (Video)
Earlier in October of this year, Anjuna Police in Goa seized a yellow-colored Ford Mustang. This particular Mustang, which was privately registered, was rented out by its owner and was seized after numerous complaints of excessive noise from it were registered. Now, recently, a video has gone viral online in which the same Mustang was seen crashed in Porvorim. The video and images show the complete front end of this sports car destroyed.
Ford Mustang crash in Goa
The video showing the aftermath of the crash of this particular Ford Mustang has been shared on Instagram by Goatv.in on their page. In this short video, we can note that the Mustang crashed into a wide divider. It has been reported that this particular accident took place in Nerul, near Porvorim. As a result of this crash, the complete front end of this Mustang, including the bumper, bonnet, left headlight, and fender, has been severely damaged.
What can also be observed is that this particular Mustang is not a stock car. It has been fitted with an aftermarket Shelby GT kit, which gives it a more aggressive front bumper and rear bumper. Additionally, this particular vehicle also has an aftermarket spoiler at the rear. A number of people in the video can be seen surrounding the vehicle at the crash site.
At the moment, there are no reports which have mentioned exactly how this vehicle crashed. However, most likely a tourist might have rented this vehicle, and as it is a very powerful vehicle with all the power going to the rear wheels, they might have not been able to control it after aggressively pressing the accelerator. Now, whether the driver who crashed it was intoxicated or not has not been reported.
Privately owned Mustang rented by rental company
As per the reports, this particular Ford Mustang is privately owned. From the video as well as previous reports, it has been noted that it is registered in Punjab and was being operated in Goa. It has been mentioned that a premium car rental company named Unclutch Car Rental, operated by a man named Kapil Nischal, had been renting this car to tourists.
Previously, this particular vehicle was seized by the Anjuna Police. The police authorities reported that they received several complaints of this particular vehicle, equipped with an aftermarket loud exhaust, terrorizing the coastal belt with reckless driving. Following this, while it was on a high-speed run on the coastal belt, the vehicle was stopped and it was then seized.
Private vehicles cannot be rented
In India, vehicles which are privately registered (vehicles with white number plates) cannot be rented. Rental vehicles are commercial vehicles; only they can be rented to earn an income. If a company is caught renting out privately registered vehicles, those vehicles can be seized by authorities and also fined heavily, and in some cases, the registration can also be cancelled by the RTO department.
There are a lot of rental companies in Goa which rent out privately registered vehicles. They rent out private vehicles because the fees of registration are lower as opposed to commercial registrations. The police authorities in Goa sometimes start crackdowns on companies; however, after some time of getting stopped, this shady business starts again.
