We have recently been seeing a lot of videos of foreigners visiting various countries in their cars or on bikes. Several foreigners in India are exploring major metro cities and tourist spots on motorcycles. These foreigners are often stopped by the cops for traffic violations. At times, the cops are strict, while in other cases, they are lenient. Here, we have one such video from a foreign YouTuber who shows how differently cops behave in India and Pakistan.

The Instagram videos have been shared by Jacob Lum, a YouTuber who is on a world tour. He visited both India and Pakistan. In the first video, he shows how cops in Pakistan behaved with him during his visit. He mentions that the police are generally curious when they spot a foreigner on the road.

They often interact with them. Some of the officers are kind, while others assert their authority. In the first video from Pakistan, the YouTuber was traveling in a three-wheeler when he got stopped by a cop. It was his first day in Pakistan, and he was unaware that three-wheelers are not allowed on certain roads in some parts of the city.

This incident happened in Lahore, where the cop informed the tourists about the rule. The cop scolded the driver but was very polite to the YouTuber. He allowed them to continue their ride because they were guests and he didn’t want them to face any issues in the country. Not only did he allow them to proceed, but the cop also recommended a few places to visit and foods to try in Lahore.

The next video is from Mumbai and was posted after the Pakistan video went viral. In this post, the foreigner is on a motorcycle and accidentally joined an expressway where bikes are not allowed.

There was a “No Entry” sign for bikes at the start, but the rider didn’t see it. He was stopped by a cop and asked to pay a fine. The cop had difficulty communicating with the foreigner due to language barriers. The rider explained to the cop that he was blindly following Google Maps and didn’t know that bikes were not allowed on that road.

The cop asked him to pay a fine of ₹500 for riding on the expressway. The rider complied, but things became strange after he paid the fine. The cop asked him not to continue on the expressway and instructed him to turn around. The rider was confused because he was asked to ride in the wrong direction on a busy expressway.

The rider told the cop he would exit at the next point, but the cop didn’t listen. The cop made him turn the bike around and go back, then join the road meant for two-wheelers. The foreigner was extremely annoyed because, after paying the fine, he was asked to risk his life by riding in the wrong direction to return to the starting point.

The comment section under this video is filled with mixed opinions. Some people support the cop, saying he was doing his duty, while others believe the cop should have been more lenient and allowed the rider to proceed. Many think the cop should have helped the rider reach the next exit safely instead of making him ride against traffic. Also, the cop shouldn’t have permitted wrong-side riding.

The YouTuber mentioned in the post that there are cattle and dogs on the roads, and such issues are generally ignored. Riding on the wrong side is dangerous, but sadly, it is a common practice ignored by many in India.
