A lot of men in India dream of buying the mighty Toyota Fortuner. Of these, there are a lot of lucky and hardworking people who manage to own their dream SUV. Recently, one such man was seen taking delivery of his Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition. What's more surprising is that this particular man came to the Toyota dealership in his humble Maruti Suzuki S-Presso hatchback. This video of the S-Presso owner buying a Toyota Fortuner has now become viral on the internet.
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso owner buys Toyota Fortuner Leader
This video showing the humble S-Presso owner taking delivery of his Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition has been shared on Instagram by Neelam Toyota from Odisha on their page. It starts off with the owner arriving at the dealership in his grey-colored Maruti Suzuki S-Presso hatchback, following which he parks the vehicle in the parking lot and then enters the dealership.
He was accompanied by one of his friends for the delivery. Soon after this, he was seen signing off the paperwork for his vehicle, after which he cut a cake for the celebration. The owner was then handed over the keys to his brand-new SUV, and he was then walking out of the dealership with the vehicle being brought out by the dealership staff.
Following this, the owner was then handed over the plate with all the essentials required to perform Hindu rituals. We can note that the owner first made a "tilak” on the vehicle, and then he was seen sitting on the driver’s seat of his SUV. Finally, he drove this vehicle for the first time, after which he crushed a lemon with the front right wheel, which is done for good fortune.
Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition
As stated above, this particular person has bought the newly launched Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition. This model is priced at Rs 36.88 lakh for the manual gearbox variant and Rs 39.16 lakh for the automatic variant. Both variants come with the same exterior design, which gets a dual-tone paint scheme.
The top half is black, and the lower half can be had in three distinct colors. It also comes with extensions for the front and rear bumpers. These extensions get added at authorized dealerships. The Leader Edition also gets a wireless charger and a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).
Powering the Toyota Fortuner Leader is the same 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This time-tested, reliable motor generates 201 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
Toyota Fortuner Hybrid launched in India
In addition to the Fortuner Leader, the company also launched the Fortuner and Legender with a mild hybrid system. This new system comprises the same 2.8-liter turbocharged engine but now comes equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. This engine generates 201 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque.
This technology slightly improves the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The SUV now has a claimed fuel efficiency of 13.15 kmpl, which is slightly more than the 12.66 kmpl of the non-hybrid version. Toyota is only offering the mild hybrid tech with the automatic version of this SUV. The SUV also gets features like idle start-stop, a 360-degree camera, and terrain modes.
