Buying any car and taking delivery after putting in long hours of hard work is a special experience. However, taking delivery of a brand-new Ferrari supercar is something even more special. Recently, a video has been shared online in which an Indian entrepreneur living in Dubai takes delivery of his brand-new Ferrari 296 GTS supercar worth Rs 3.2 crore (Dubai price). What makes this entrepreneur special is that his journey has been a very long one, and he went from buying a Tata Indica to an all-new Ferrari 296 GTS.
Indian Entrepreneur Buys a Ferrari 296 GTS
This video of the delivery of the Ferrari 296 GTS has been shared on YouTube by the entrepreneur Soam Jena on his channel. It starts off with the entrepreneur explaining that today is the delivery of his new Ferrari. He then mentions that he, along with his wife and kid, will take a taxi to the dealership and will be later joined by his brother and his family.
Following this, the family takes the cab and reaches Ferrari Dubai, arriving at the reception. From there, they are taken to the delivery room, which is also the room where customers spec their brand-new Ferrari cars. Soon after this, the brother of the entrepreneur and his family also arrive at the dealership, after which he, along with his wife and kid, uncovers the Ferrari 296 GTS.
The video then shows the owner getting handed the keys to his 296 GTS by the Ferrari sales executive. After this, he immediately sits inside the supercar and opens up the convertible hardtop. He then gets handed goodies, including a Ferrari cap, a Ferrari t-shirt for him and his son, a Ferrari mug, and a box of chocolates.
Finally, his car is taken out of the dealership via the car elevator, and he, along with his wife, sits inside the car and reaches home. The entrepreneur then parks it next to his Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG luxury SUV and compares it. He highlights that the G-Wagen looks like a monster truck while being parked next to the Ferrari.
Ferrari 296 GTS
As mentioned, the Indian entrepreneur has chosen the latest V8 supercar from Ferrari. In Dubai, the Ferrari 296 GTS, which is the hardtop convertible version of the 296 supercar, is priced at Rs 3.2 crore. Meanwhile, the same vehicle in India starts at Rs 6.2 crore. It comes equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 motor.
This engine also gets assistance from a rear-mounted electric motor. The ICE engine alone makes 664 bhp, and the electric motor makes 166 bhp. In total, this supercar makes 830 bhp and 740 Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is 330 kmph.
This Entrepreneur's Journey
The entrepreneur seen in the video is Soumendra Jena. He was born in Rourkela, a small town in Orissa. He spent his childhood in a single-room house with metal sheets and a tarp as its roof. He completed his education in Orissa from 1988 to 2006, following which he went on to found a company called Jetspot Networks, which specializes in networking and internet solutions.
As for Soumendra Jena’s car journey, it kicked off with a humble Tata Indica, which he bought back in 2008 as his first vehicle. After that, while staying in India, he managed to buy himself a brand-new Mercedes-Benz G350d luxury SUV. However, in 2021, when the entrepreneur decided to shift to Dubai, he bought himself a Porsche Taycan Turbo S electric sedan.
This EV luxury sedan makes 761 PS of power and 1,050 Nm of torque. Apart from this, he also bought himself a brand-new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, finished in the classy shade of Obsidian Black. This tank of an SUV comes equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor, which is capable of producing 585 bhp and 850 Nm of torque.
