MLA Famous For Riding To Assembly On TVS NTorq Upgrades To Hyundai Creta

We often talk about how politicians in India are now leading lavish lifestyles with their expensive cars and convoys. However, there are still a few politicians in our country who believe in leading a humble lifestyle and serving the public. One such politician from Goa is Antonio Vaz, an independent MLA from Cortalim. He made news after arriving at the Goa Assembly Complex for his swearing-in ceremony on TVS NTorq scooter. A video has now surfaced online where the politician is seen upgrading to a Hyundai Creta.
The video has been shared by Goa Hyundai on their Instagram page. In this video, we see Mr. Antonio Vaz arriving at a Hyundai dealership with his family. They are welcomed by the dealership staff and soon start filling out the documents. Once the documentation is done, the dealership staff hands over the key and invites them to cut the cake as part of the celebration.
After this, the family moves to the delivery area, where they finally unveil their brand-new car. In fact, the politician didn’t buy the regular Creta - he bought the King Edition of the Creta, which Hyundai launched to celebrate 10 years of the model in the Indian market.
The Hyundai Creta King Edition is based on the SX (O) variant and is available with 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine options.
We are not sure which engine option Antonio went for. The King Edition comes in a matte black shade on the outside with “King” stickers on the tailgate. The car includes features like powered driver and passenger seats with memory function, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (via an adapter), dashcams, dual-zone climate control, and more.
Apart from these cosmetic updates, the car mechanically remains the same. As mentioned above, the SUV is available with two petrol and one diesel engine option. The NA petrol comes with manual and IVT gearbox options, the diesel gets manual and automatic transmission options, and the turbo petrol comes with a DCT gearbox.
Prices for the Hyundai Creta King Edition start at Rs 17.89 lakh and go up to Rs 20.61 lakh (ex-showroom). The comment section under this video is filled with people criticizing the politician. Some of the comments include:
“Finally, could see him after 3 yrs…”, “Was he the one who came with an Activa at his first assembly in parliament? ? This shows the power of being an MLA”, “In another 5 years Hyundai will be upgraded to Mercedes”, “Has this MLA done a single good thing? What a waste.”
It looks like most people who came across the video were angry because the MLA has not done much work in his constituency. However, when compared to many politicians in the country, the Hyundai Creta is still a very humble option. We have featured politicians on our website who even own a Ferrari.
