A lot of people with powers in their hands forget that they need to work with moral conduct. Unfortunately, these people get high on power and start abusing it. Recently, one such self-styled godman, Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, director of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SRISIIM), Vasant Kunj, Delhi, has been reported for molesting 17 girls. As a result of the raids at his office and residence, his Volvo luxury sedan, which had a fake UN embassy number plate, has also been seized.

As mentioned, the name of the accused is Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati. His real name is Partha Sarathy, or some knew him as Dr. Swami Partasarthy. He was the director and manager of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SRISIIM) in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. His unit was linked to Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha, Sringeri, which is a prominent South Indian ashram.

As per the reports, 32 female students pursuing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) scholarship gave statements against Sarathy for misconduct. Of these 32, 17 students specifically accused him of molestation.

These girls, in their statements, said that the godman would use abusive and vulgar language and also send them obscene messages on WhatsApp and SMS. They also accused him of unwanted physical contact.

It has also been reported that the women faculty members and administrators allegedly pressured victims to comply with the Swami’s demands. They stated that some wardens even introduced victims to Sarathy and facilitated his misconduct.

The Vasant Kunj North Police highlighted that on 04 August 2025, a complaint was lodged at the station by P.A. Murli, Administrator of Sri Sringeri Math & its properties. Following this, a case was registered under relevant Bharat Nyaya Sanhita sections (75(2)/79/351(2)) for sexual harassment, and then an investigation was initiated.
