Govt Employee With 1.5 Lakh Salary Owns 14 Crore Worth Exotic Cars, Superbikes: Arrested

Anti-Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan recently conducted raids at several locations in Jaipur, Hanumangarh, Delhi and Ghaziabad in connection with a case against Chhatrapal Singh, the group general manager (technology) of RajComp Info Services Ltd. A government owned entity based in Yojana Bhavan. The raid was conducted as part of an investigation that alleged of Mr. Chhatrapal Singh of owning several expensive cars and owning properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
As per the reports, Mr. Chhatrapal Singh worked with the company at a salary of Rs 1.5 lakh but, the investigation officers uncovered that the officer had ammased wealth that doesn’t match with his salary. Along with high-value assets, the investigation agency also seized luxury cars including Porsche and Land Rover.
Chhatrapal Singh also owns several expensive bikes from brands like Triumph and BMW. He also owns vehicles like Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Scorpio and a Chevrolet Cruze in his collection. During the raid, the investigation team also found documents of two expensive flats that are owned by Mr. Singh.
The flats were located on Ajmer Road. He also owns a house at Mahadev Nagar, Sodala and Rs 6 lakh in cash was also found. Other than the car and the properties, the officers also found documents related to a spa center under the name Simply Divine at Raja Park. He also operated a Trust called Happy Heart Foundation registered at Ashok Nagar. Both these institutions were operated by Mr. Singh and his family.
A Land Rover Defender itself is worth over a crore. From the pictures, it looks like Chhatrapal Singh had bought a Porsche Cayenne SUV. It is possible that he might have bought a used Cayenne SUV at a cheaper price but, even for that he would have spent at least 10 lakhs or more. A brand new Mahindra Scorpio N 4×4 variant that too the the high-end model would cost around Rs 25 lakh and the Thar 4×4 would also cost you around Rs 20 lakh.
Similarly the premium bikes in Mr. Singh’s collection would also cost in lakhs. All these assets have been seized and the agency has also discovered several bank accounts, multiple insurance policies and a bank locker linked to Mr. Singh and his family.
Other than seizing the assets, the agency is also looking into Mr. Singh’s travel history to see if he owns any properties outside India or not. They are also investigating his foreign trips and stays at expensive resorts. The agency obtained search warrant after registering a case against the officer.
According to various reports that have surfaced online, Chhatrapal Singh owns assets worth Rs 14 crore and the expensive cars that we mentioned above are all part of this.
Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena had raised concerns with the minister of state for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham about an alleged Rs 3,500 crore scam in the department of Information Technology and Communication (DOIT). RajComp was the firm that provided consulting services and maintains the state government’s IT infraastructure. Enforcement Directorate has also initiated an investigation against Mr. Chhatrapal Singh.
