Gifting cars has now almost become a common sight. Here we have one such video of a wedding from South India where the groom decided to surprise the bride with a very expensive gift. It was not a piece of jewellery but a brand-new BMW M340i luxury sedan.
The video has been shared by flyingdutchmen on his Instagram page. In this video, we see the groom and bride on the stage. It looks like this was a wedding somewhere in Kerala. The couple is seen celebrating their special day on the stage when the groom decides to surprise the bride with a gift.
He pulls out a case that contains the keys to their brand-new car. It was a BMW, and we could clearly see the logo on the key fob and recognise it. The excitement and happiness on the bride’s face were clearly visible in the video, as she was probably not expecting a gift like this on her wedding day.
The excitement goes up even more once she finds out which car her husband decided to surprise her with. It was a BMW M340i, finished in an elegant shade of red. We usually don’t see brides in the driver’s seat. Such expensive cars are often driven home by the groom, with the bride in the co-driver’s seat.
However, in this case, the bride was in the driver’s seat, and she drove the car out with the groom while their family and friends enjoyed the moment. This is not the first time we have seen someone surprise their partner with an expensive car like this. However, we are surprised by how often such gestures are happening now.
The BMW M340i seen here in the video is actually a performance version of the regular 3 Series sedan. The M340i was launched last year. When compared to the regular 3 Series, the M340i gets subtle exterior changes like an updated M-specific grille finished in black, M-specific ORVMs, a sportier-looking bumper, and dual exhaust tips.
It continues to get sleek adaptive LED headlights, LED DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels, and more. On the inside, the sedan gets Vernasca leather seat upholstery with M stitching, giving it a premium and sporty appeal.
Coming to the features, it gets a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. BMW calls this the widescreen curved display. As mentioned above, this is the performance version of the 3 Series, and it uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
The engine generates 374 PS and 500 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the power is sent to all four wheels. The price of a brand-new BMW M340i is around Rs 73.95 lakh, ex-showroom. On road price is about 92-94 lakh, based on the trim chosen.
