Police Seize Scooters Parked Outside Home Gates Under 'No Parking' Rules: Citizens Outraged [Video]

A lot of us have a habit of parking our two-wheelers and four-wheelers right in front of the main gate of our house. Now, in most places, this is normal and the authorities do not have a problem with this type of parking. However, the Gwalior police authorities do not think the same. Recently, a video has gone viral in which a Suzuki Access 125 and a Honda Activa were seized from a narrow lane in which there were residential buildings.
This video, showing the seizure of these two-wheelers from the main doors of houses, has been shared on Instagram by Our Gwalior on their page. In this short video, we can note that two men at the same time come in front of the main gates of two houses, in front of which these two-wheelers were parked. They then picked up the front wheel arches of these scooters as they were locked.
Following this, they start pushing the vehicles out of the narrow lane into the main road, where we can note there was a regular traffic flow. The video then shows these two men picking up these scooters and placing them on what might be the impound vehicle that the traffic police authorities use. It can be seen that the homeowners were unaware of this action, as nobody came out of the homes.
Most likely, this action has been taken after complaints of traffic on narrow roads. A lot of times, these vehicles parked on the road cause traffic jams. However, it has to be mentioned that this generally happens on roads in which there is heavy traffic flow. However, from the video, it does not seem like there is much traffic on this particular road.
Generally, every once in a while, the traffic police authorities of many cities start such crackdowns where many vehicles are seized. This could be one of those crackdowns. However, the exact details have not been shared online. As for the owners of these vehicles, they will now have to reach the police station to get their vehicles released from the impound lot. For this, they'll need to pay a fine to the authorities.
A few netizens on this particular post, showing the seizure of two-wheelers from the doors of residences, have stated that it is not wrong. They have stated that these vehicles parked on roads cause traffic jams. However, a number of netizens have highlighted that this is not fair and such actions only cause inconvenience to the owners, as they have to pay unnecessary fines.
Recently, the RTO officials in Delhi have also started seizing 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles from roads in Delhi. As part of this seizure drive, they have also been seizing these old cars from public parking lots as well. A circular was passed which stated that owners of old vehicles are no longer allowed to park them safely and keep them unused in open areas and public parking. However, no action will be taken against the cars that are parked securely inside garages.
