Harsh Kotak's 'Gold-Wrapped' Land Rover Defender 110 Bond Edition On Video

Ahmedabad-based Indian businessman Harsh Kotak is famous for his multi-crore car collection and flamboyant lifestyle. He owns multiple expensive cars like Maybachs and Ferraris. In April this year, the family had added a brand-new vehicle to their garage- a heavily customised Land Rover Defender 110. It has been given a Matte Gold wrap, and areas including the front fascia have been reworked as well. A video of the SUV rolling through the streets of Ahmedabad has now surfaced online.
The video starts by showing the SUV parked by the road. We can see the front view in these visuals. In addition to the full Gold wrap by Inozetek USA, the front bumper has been completely reworked. There is now a large grille section on which the number 63 is painted.
Most of the cars owned by the Kotak family have 63 as their registration numbers. The garage thus has the name ‘the 63 garage’. The fog lamps seems to be aftermarket units fro Rowl.AE. The body kit is from Urban Automotive.
Soon, we get to see the vehicle’s side view. It now rides on stylish Vossen wheels. The video then shows the insane acceleration of this Defender. The SUV here is, in fact, the Defender V8 Bond Edition. The production of this series was limited to 300 units.
Its 5.0‑litre supercharged V8 petrol engine makes 525hp and 625Nm of torque. 0-100kph sprint is claimed to take just 5.2 seconds! The Kotaks have also installed Milltek Sport exhaust, the soundtrack of which can be heard in the video.
This SUV has registration plates that read ‘GJ 18 BS 63’. A quick check online shows Pravinbhai Kotak, Harsh’s father, as the registered owner. Even though this build seems interesting, details on the actual cost of customisation are yet to surface.
This Indian billionaire created huge headlines when he decided to take his Ferrari SF90 Stradale indoors. Kotak built an exclusive luxury lounge to park and showcase the supercar. He wanted the car to be an artefact there and sought the help of Ini Design Studio to realise the vision. The lounge has a motorised vertical window for moving the vehicle in and out. There are vast expanses of stylish glass that would let ample light in, and create the perfect experience.
This lounge area at Kotak’s residence in Ahmedabad blurs the line between car and home decor! His SF90 is finished in the Rosso Corsa shade, and this particular spec likely costs over 9 crore rupees in India.
Powering it is Maranello’s first-ever 4.0L plug-in hybrid V8 that makes over 1000 hp- more powerful than the LaFerrari itself! This setup uses three electric motors- two on the front axle and one at the rear, between the engine and the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. These were mated to a rather small , 7.9kWh battery pack. The carmaker even claims an electric-only range of 25.7 km!
Interestingly, just 2000 units of the SF90 Stradale were ever made. The supercar’s name paid homage to 90 glorious years of Scuderia Ferrari. The car had a low centre of gravity and offered significant weight savings. Using super-alloy Inconel instead of Steel in exhausts helped it shave off significant chunks. With all these in place, the SF90 Stradale can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 342 kph.
