Heavily Modified Mahindra Scorpio-N Is Expedition Ready [Video]

Mahindra is one of the leading car and SUV manufacturers in India, with several popular SUVs like the Thar, XUV700, Scorpio N, and the recently launched Thar Roxx in the market. We have seen numerous videos and examples of modified Mahindra SUVs in the past. In fact, some people have even bought Mahindra SUVs specifically for modifications and have done impressive transformations with these vehicles. Here, we have one such heavily modified Mahindra Scorpio N that looks expedition-ready.
The video has been shared by Auto Waar on their Instagram page. We have seen several render videos in the past where the Scorpio N has been reimagined as an expedition-ready vehicle. In this case, the people behind this project are none other than Mahindra themselves. We ran the registration number online and found that the vehicle was registered under the brand’s name.
We know that Mahindra has an adventure division that conducts several events. It looks like the Scorpio N seen here was modified by Mahindra Adventure for their off-road expeditions and reconnaissance. The SUV has been completely transformed into an off-road beast. We’ll start with the front. The chrome inserts on the front grille have been removed, and the stock bumper has also been replaced.
The SUV features an off-road-spec metal bumper with an electric winch placed behind it. High-power fog lamps or auxiliary lamps are installed on the SUV’s bumper. Moving to the side, we see a set of limb risers installed at the front. The fenders on this SUV have also been modified.
They are wider than the stock SUV fenders, intentionally designed to accommodate the new set of wheels. The SUV now rides on a wider set of wheels, and the tires are also wider than usual. We see metal footsteps, which are small units that do not compromise the vehicle’s ground clearance.
At the rear, there is a metal off-road bumper with a towing hook integrated into it. The position of the spare wheel has changed; it was previously located under the vehicle but has now been mounted on a custom bracket on the tailgate. We also see a cover for the wheel here. Additionally, a small ladder is placed just after the rear door.
There are several auxiliary lamps around the vehicle, some of which are mounted on the SUV’s roof rail. These are not stock roof rails but practical metal units, which can be used to carry jerry cans and other supplies during off-road trips.
The SUV also has a functional snorkel finished in the same red shade as the SUV. The model seen here is the top-end Z8 L 4×4 variant. We are not sure if this is the manual or the automatic version. This variant of the Scorpio N includes features like dual-tone leatherette upholstery, an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a Sony speaker system, a digital instrument cluster, and more.
The SUV uses a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that generates 172 Bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The price for a brand-new Mahindra Scorpio N starts at Rs 13.85 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 24.54 lakh, ex-showroom. Only the higher diesel engine options offer the 4×4 feature.
