Motorcycling is a passion for many. We often see stories and videos of bikers making their social commitment and helping the public in various ways. We have seen them save people and animals involved in crashes. A video of one such incident has now surfaced, in which a biker can be seen helping a family that's trapped in a crashed Tata Altroz.
Biker Saves Family Trapped In Crashed Tata Altroz
The video starts by showing the biker walking towards a crashed car. Having absorbed the impact from the crash, the car involved- a Tata Altroz- toppled and landed on one of its sides. A family is trapped inside. He rushes to the rescue and helps the driver to get out of the debris.
The driver seems to be hurt but is safe. The biker then asks him if there are more people inside. He says yes to it. Shocked, he rushes to the car and pulls the rest of the family out. There are two ladies- his wife and mother, kids and an old man. All of them appear to be shock-struck by the crash but remain safe.

A quick look at the car also shows the damage it has taken. Despite crashing and rolling over, the Tata Altroz hasn't incurred major structural damage. The front end seems to have taken slight damage. The side and rear portions remain largely unscathed.
Towards the end of the video, the biker is seen consoling the family as they are moved to the nearest hospital/health centre in another vehicle. Alongside the high safety offered by the Altroz, the kindness and humanity shown by the biker also need to be appreciated here.
Tata Altroz Is Crashworthy And Safe!
The Altroz holds a reputation for being an extremely safe car. Soon after it was launched, the Altroz was evaluated by Global NCAP. In crash tests conducted by the evaluation body, the Altroz secured a five-star safety rating and the highest score achieved by a made-in-India car back then.
With the advent of more tech-laden, safer cars over the years, the Altroz lost this title, but it continues to be a very safe car. Another reason for the slip is that the Global NCAP protocols and testing standards have been made stricter.
At the time when this Tata hatchback was tested, GNCAP used to test cars at a speed of 64 km/h. The Altroz performed impressively well. It scored 16.13 out of 17 in adult safety. In Child Occupant Safety, it scored 29 out of 49.

The car has a solid and sturdy build. The bodyshell integrity was assessed to be 'stable'. The head, neck, and knees of both the driver and co-passenger enjoyed excellent protection. The protection offered to the chest area was evaluated to be satisfactory. There seems to be room for improvement here.
Another Altroz Crash
Recently, we saw the news about another Altroz crash. In this, the hatchback with a family of five inside, rammed into a truck, while returning from the Bhimashankar Shiva temple. The car overturned a couple of times before coming to a complete halt. It had its roof deformed, and headlights and windshield damaged. The owner later restored this Altroz into a new-like form. The work was completed at Shrinath Automotive in Chakan, Pune.
