Bikers Assault Car Driver For 'Questioning' Wrong Side Riding: 4 Arrested [Video]

Road rage in India has actually increased in the last couple of years. We come across several videos almost every day where car drivers and bikers are seen arguing with each other over silly matters. Here we have one such incident from Pune Khadki where a car driver was assaulted brutally by bike riders who were stopped by him for wrong-side riding. The video of the incident has now gone viral and as per the latest reports, four of them have been arrested in this case.

The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. The one seen here is shared by a user on his X profile. In the video that is doing rounds on the internet, we see the footage from the dashcam of the car whose driver got attacked.

In the video, we see the driver arguing with a scooter (Honda Activa) rider and pillion over wrong-side riding. The driver was asking him about the reckless behavior and why he was doing this. The heated argument continues and within seconds things start to escalate.

We see the car driver move forward, but the scooter rider follows him, blocks the way of the car, and attacks him. He then calls some of his friends, as seen in the next clip, and they block his way as well. The incident happened on Elphinstone Road near a Gurudwara at around 5:45 pm. The car driver, who has been identified as Satyam Bhargav, from the images and videos, can be clearly seen panicking while dialing the authorities.

He did call the emergency numbers but by the time they arrived, the attackers had assaulted him and fled the spot. Satyam and his friend Mahesh, who tried to resolve things, were attacked. The social media post mentions that the driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital and the CT scan reports hint at a possible internal injury.

Both of them were later transferred to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri, as Bhargav was advised to undergo surgery for a fractured nose. Khadki police registered a case under multiple sections of BNS including grievous hurt, voluntary hurt, wrongful restraint, intentional insult to provoke, breach of peace, and common intention. The video clearly captured the vehicles in which the suspects arrived, and that was used to actually file a complaint.

The details of the men arrested are not available but the officers mentioned that all four attackers have been arrested. They were arrested by Tuesday evening.

In this case, the car driver tried to engage with the attackers and we feel that is what escalated things. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, the first thing that should run through your mind is how you want to resolve the issue.

If you engage with them, it is only going to make things worse. Try ignoring them, but if you feel they are damaging your vehicle, contact local police and ask for help. Note down the number of the vehicle or record a video of the incident as it can be used as evidence. If you feel that they are following your vehicle, drive your car to the nearest police station and report the incident. Never engage and try to be more patient on the road.
