How A Local Indian Garage Converted Honda Civic Into Lamborghini Huracan Spyder: Video

Buying a Lamborghini is a dream for many. As obvious as it gets, very few can afford to do so. Due to the aspirational value of the Italian brand and its products, we have seen many build life-size replicas of various Lamborghini models. Many of these are based on the Honda Civic. A clean example is this Lamborghini Huracan look-alike that has been built by a garage in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
A video shared on the channel MAGNETO 11 shows the workflow of the build. We get to see the garage turning an old Civic into what looks almost like a Huracan. Making things more interesting, the finished product is a convertible with a functional hard top.
First, the Civic is stripped and the skeleton chopped to get the proportions right. The top hat is completely removed and parts of the platform are tweaked to suit the build. Then a replica of the Huracan's bodywork is installed, keeping the wheelbase untouched. The bodywork is then painted carefully. The garage then works on the seats. The stock seats of the Civic are popped out and re-upholstered. The finished product look sporty and come with Lamborghini logos on the headrests.
This car is fitted with Huracan-like LED projector headlamps which feature integrated LED DRLs as well. The fog lamps sit on the bumper, inside the front scoops. The actual Huracan has its front air intakes here. The alloy wheels of the finished car wear Gold paint. This colour can be spotted at several places of the bodywork as well. Finally a paint protection treatment is also done to the vehicle, and this makes its look exceptionally good.
Going by the video alone, the powertrain seems to have been left untouched. This Lambo replica could likely be using the Civic's 1.8L naturally aspirated petrol engine in its stock form. Almost everything remains familiar inside the cabin, except for the redesigned seats. The steering wheel has been fitted with a Lamborghini logo, and Green trims have been installed at many places.
The garage has given this replica a functional convertible hard top. You can deploy and retract the hard roof with the press of a button. Many modern-day convertibles feature electric roofs. Getting to find a clean example in a replica, however, is rare. This build thus stands extra special.
The rear design isn't as interesting or perfect as the front. One could even be reminded of the DC Avanti by certain areas of it! The tail lamps, in particular, would disappoint you with their design and finish.
This is something we have seen with many replica kits. They tend to keep the focus of design resemblance limited to the front fascia. Everything else, can apparently be compromised! Circling back, the rear gets a massive integrated diffuser. The video also gives us detailed views of the car's body panels, panel gaps, and the fit at large...
Another case of tasteful Civic modification came from Jaipur Jeep Lovers, when they built a Lamborghini Centenario out of an old Civic. This replica has more attention to detail gone into it and resembles the original supercar with most of its exterior styling. The entire bodywork was made out of strong fibreglass and the car wears original Lamborghini logos!
Like the Huracan Spyder replica, this comes with an electric convertible hard top as well. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. In this case, as well, the rear design- especially the proportions- is slightly off. The shop has, however, given this car a functional active aero wing that can be operated with the press of a button. This replica even gets a triple exit exhaust at the rear!
This replica gets a comprehensive update to its interior design as well. It has been fitted with a fully customized dashboard, two screens- one for the infotainment and the other for the air conditioning system, real Lamborghini badges, and reworked seats.
While most of these builds are illegal in India, people continue to roll out replicas out of their sheer enthusiasm for a car brand or its products. In many parts of the country, these can be rented out for occasions like weddings or movie shoots...
