This incident seems to have occurred in Pakistan, as suggested by the Urdu/ Arabic on the motorcycle's fuel tank. A man stole petrol from its fuel tank and left an apology letter on the tank, trying to communicate with the owner. It was essentially a piece of paper with some handwritten text and two images.

The text reads ' Bro, I have taken petrol from your bike, in distress. I had to get to the hotel urgently. That's why I took the fuel.' He further gave a number and said ' Please call me on this number and I will send (transfer) the money.' How more honest can anyone get, in his/her life?

Making this more wholesome, he even drew a bottle on the paper and wrote 500 ml on it. It showed around 250-300 ml left, and a note that read ' I have taken just this much'. The second image on the paper was a sad smiley along with a 'Sorry'.

The Reddit post is getting massive traction. Many Redditors think the act to be adorable and brutally honest. Many found it the drawing to be cute as well. 'This is by far the most funny yet cute and honest post in this group'- commented a user. 'This is good, people with civic sense'- said another. 'I would have had laughed and let him take it free(for honesty)'- goes another comment.

What Is Fuel Siphoning?

Siphoning is the most common practice used to steal fuel from motorcycles. It isn't anything new. This technique relies on simple physics. You use a tube and suck petrol from the tank, with your mouth. The end with suction is then put in a container, thereby draining the fuel. This technique uses gravity and pressure difference for smooth functioning.

The above scenario needs proper access to the tank. In the case of the motorcycle in question, there seems to be no access to the tank. So, it could be the case that the thief used the fuel pipe that goes from the fuel tank to the engine. In most cases, this sits outside the motorcycle.

Bike Thief Stops In Front Of Owner To Fill Petrol, Busted!

bike theft in kozhikode

One fine day, Praveen, a Panchayat member of Kadalundi village in Kozhikode district, had his motorcycle stolen from the city. The next day, he reported the incident at the nearest police station. The officers then asked him to provide the original documents of the motorcycle. The owner then drove back to his home to collect the same.

On the way back, they stopped at a fuel station. Suddenly, they saw a bike overtake them from the left side and cut in front of their line. It even had a pillion. To his surprise, Praveen realized it to be his stolen motorcycle. He alerted his friends and together, they cornered the thief.

Sensing danger, the thief fled the spot. The pillion, however, could not make an escape and was handed over to the cops. Reports say that he escaped custody while being transported to jail.

In this case, it was the CCTV camera installed at the fuel station that led to the thief being nabbed. The thief fled without remobing his helmet, and the same made it difficult to identify him.
