There is hardly anyone who doesn’t like gifts. We have come across several videos in the past where people have surprised their siblings, parents, or partners with gifts. Lately, we have been seeing cases where they actually gift expensive cars and bikes on special occasions. Here, we have a video where a husband surprised his wife with a Mini Cooper hot hatchback on their first anniversary.

The video has been shared by Sarath Sankar on his Instagram page. In the video, we see the husband walk out of a resort toward the porch with his wife, who has no idea what is happening. There is a car covered in cloth parked at the drop-off area, and as soon as she sees the car, she becomes excited and starts looking at her husband.

It was indeed a surprise for her, as she was probably not expecting an expensive gift like this. The car under the cloth was actually a Mini Cooper. It is the previous generation model, which is still quite popular among enthusiasts even today.

The couple then takes delivery of their new car, and the husband gifts the key to his loving wife. The car is then unveiled, and the smile on her face just keeps getting wider. The excitement and happiness after seeing the car are very evident in the video.

The couple then celebrates their anniversary by cutting a cake and exchanging gifts. She gifted him expensive sunglasses. Family, friends, and relatives gathered for the celebration, and afterward, they took the car for a quick spin. The wife is seen behind the steering wheel, and she carefully takes the car out. Towards the end, we even see tears of joy in Sarath’s wife’s eyes.

The Mini Cooper seen in the video is finished in the iconic red shade with black stripes on the bonnet. The car looks like the third-generation 3-door hatchback. Mini Cooper hatchbacks are quite popular among enthusiasts, and finding a well-maintained example in the used car market is not that hard.

The third-generation Mini Cooper seen here was officially launched back in 2014. It is based on BMW's UKL platform and is 3,821 mm long, 1,727 mm wide, and 1,414 mm tall. So technically speaking, the Mini Cooper is not so mini anymore. This 3-door hatchback gets a circular touchscreen infotainment system in the center of the dashboard.

We are not sure if this is the diesel or the petrol version of the car seen in the video. The Cooper D, which is the diesel version, is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder unit that generates 114 bhp and 270 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Cooper S, which is the petrol version, is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that generates 189 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. The engine is also mated to an automatic transmission.
