Number of rich businessmen in India have increased in the last couple of decades. With this, we have also seen a rise in number of people who opt for expensive and exotic cars. While there are many who go for expensive cars, there are a few who love to stand out from the crowd with unique ideas be it in business or for the choice of their rides. No matter how rich you get, there is one thing that most Indians follow. They take their new ride to temple to get the vehicle blessed. Here we have one such video, where businessman from Hyderabad took his unique ride a brand new Airbus helicopter to the Yadadri temple to perform Vahan Puja.
The video has been shared by Mohd Lateef Babla on his X profile. We have usually seen people take their cars to temple for vahan pooja but, this is probably the first time we have seen someone take a helicopter to temple for blessings.
In this post, the helicopter owner is seen performing the Vahan Puja as guided by the priests. He begins by conducting the religious ritual. Then, he throws the coconut onto a stone positioned below. Afterward, he follows the priests’ instructions to complete the remaining rituals.
The helicopter seen here in the video actually belongs to Boinpally Srinivas Rao as mentioned in the post here. He is actually a popular businessman from Hyderabad who owns Prathima Group. He is bought this Airbus ACH-135 helicopter.
The helicopter was flown to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri for the Vahan Puja. A sper the reports that are available online, the helicopter bought by Mr. Srinivas Rao, costs $5.7 million, which is roughly Rs 50 crore. We also see Vidyasagar Rao, The former Maharashtra governor attending the religious ritual with the businessman in this video.
As previously mentioned, the helicopter in question is the Airbus ACH-135. This twin-engine light rotorcraft is among the most popular helicopters globally, with Airbus having delivered approximately 1,350 units to over 300 customers across 60 countries. It measures 40.2 feet in length, 12.8 feet in height, and has a main rotor diameter of 34.1 feet.
The ACH-135 can be customized in multiple configurations, supporting one or two pilots and seating up to six passengers. It is also widely used by emergency services. The helicopter features Airbus’s Helionix avionics suite and a four-axis autopilot system. Additionally, it includes a Fenestron tail rotor, which helps minimize noise levels.
Engine options include the Safran Arrius 2B2 Plus and the Pratt & Whitney PW206B3, both delivering between 500 and 700 shaft horsepower. With a full fuel tank, the ACH-135 offers a range of 342 nautical miles and a top speed of 140 knots. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 2,980 kg and can hover at altitudes of up to 7,200 feet.
This is not the first time, we have seen someone do a vaahan pooja on an expensive vehicle or ride. In the past we have seen people do similar rituals on expensive cars like Lamborghini. Even Bengaluru Lamborghini dealership conducted a religious ritual like this when the Revuelto arrived at the dealership for the first time.
