Hyderabad Businessman Flies His Rs 50 Crore Helicopter To Temple For ‘Vahan Pooja’

The one thing that is admirable about Indians is that even if they become super wealthy, they still do not forget their traditions. They tend to be humble and follow their religion even when they buy ultra-exotic cars, bikes, and even helicopters. Recently, a video showed one of the businessmen from Hyderabad taking his brand-new Airbus helicopter to the Yadadri temple to perform Vahan Puja. For those who may not be aware, this Hindu religious procession is done after someone buys a new vehicle.
The video showing the Vahan Puja of a helicopter was shared on X by Mohd Lateef Babla. In this post, the owner of the helicopter can be seen performing the Vahan Puja under the directions provided by the priests. He first performs the aarti ritual with a Diya inside a coconut. Following this, he throws the coconut on the stone placed below. After this, he gets directed to complete the other rituals.
For those who may be wondering who exactly is the owner of this helicopter, it is none other than Boinpally Srinivas Rao. He is a prominent businessman from Hyderabad who owns Prathima Group. He recently acquired this brand-new Airbus ACH-135 helicopter.
He took his private chopper to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri for the Vahan Puja. This is reportedly the first time a helicopter has been taken for such a ritual in India. The Airbus ACH-135, bought by Srinivas Rao, costs $5.7 million, which is roughly Rs 50 crore. The former Maharashtra governor, Vidyasagar Rao, was also present at the puja.
The helicopter, as mentioned above, is the Airbus ACH-135. This twin-engine light rotorcraft is one of the most sought-after helicopters in the world. Airbus has delivered around 1,350 units to more than 300 buyers across 60 countries. The helicopter measures 40.2 feet in length, 12.8 feet in height, and has a main rotor diameter of 34.1 feet.
It can be configured in various styles, accommodating one or two pilots and up to six passengers. The ACH-135 is also used by emergency services. It comes equipped with the Airbus Helionix avionics suite and a four-axis autopilot. The helicopter also gets a Fenestron tail rotor that reduces noise.
Airbus offers engine options like the Safran Arrius 2B2 Plus and the Pratt & Whitney PW206B3. Both provide shaft horsepower in the 500–700 hp range. With a full fuel load, it has a range of 342 nautical miles and can reach speeds of up to 140 knots. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 2,980 kg and can hover at altitudes of around 7,200 feet.
Just a few weeks ago, a Lamborghini Revuelto was also seen undergoing Vahan Puja in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Matte Military Green colored Lamborghini Revuelto, priced at Rs 8.89 crore, was seen wearing a garland. This supercar is currently the most expensive Lamborghini on sale in India. The Revuelto is a plug-in hybrid supercar, which is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Aventador.
It comes powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. This is complemented by three electric motors and a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output is 1,015 PS and 807 Nm of torque. The Revuelto can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and it offers a top speed of 350 km/h. Prior to this, we have also seen a red Bentley Bentayga and a green Lamborghini.
