Ever since Maruti Suzuki launched the Jimny in India, we have seen many interesting and some insane builds and customisations. This here, could be the most insane of them all, A video shared on the YouTube channel ‘Aaruksh‘ shows a bunch of guys having crazy off-road fun with their vehicles. There is a Thar, Wrangler, Willys and an insanely built Maruti Jimny- the star of the show. This Jimny can be seen doing crazy stuff in the video and is a killer in the way it looks.

The Jimny wearing the plate CH 01 CT 8452 could be the most capable and the most rugged one to exist in the country today. In the video, it is used to ‘make the track’ at a location which looks all the more deserted and wilderly. While the original Jimny looks small and timid, this vehicle is just the opposite. It is intimidating, butch and extremely capable. We are not sure of the details of the modifications done on this vehicle.

What we can see is that this Jimny has been lifted, and gets a completely new suspension setup. It rides on humongous tyres which can tackle almost any terrain. In the video, the vehicle is seen driving through the wild and even running a small tree down. Courtesy of the massive tyres and the articulation of the suspension, the vehicle is seen negotiating steep inclines, climbs and dips with ease.

The biggest highlight of this build, however, is the all-wheel steering mechanism. All wheels of this Jimny can be steered. In the video, you can see the vehicle engaging this system. It allows the vehicle to negotiate tight turns with ease. The articulation of this vehicle’s suspension will give you jaw drops.

The video shows several instances which reveal the flexibility and articulation of this setup. Though details on it are sparse, the engine seems to have upgraded as well. It is visibly torquier than the stock car. To sum up, this vehicle is truly an off-roader’s dream.

Maruti Jimny: An Overview

The Jimny had its India launch in June 2023. It has a boxy design that compact proportions, in the stock form. India is the first country to get the 5-door version of Jimny. Two trims are available- Zeta and Alpha.

The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 105hp and 134Nm of torque. You can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Unlike other Maruti models that use the newer K15C engine, the Jimny comes with the older K15B. Claimed fuel efficiency stands at 16.94 kpl for the manual variant and 16.39kpl for the automatic. In real-world scenarios, it could be much less.

For off-road enthusiasts, the Jimny comes equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system, featuring a manual transfer case and low-range gearbox with selectable ‘2WD-high’, ‘4WD-high’, and ‘4WD-low’ modes. It is based on a robust ladder-frame chassis and has 3-link rigid axle suspension. The ground clearance is 210mm. The safety features include an electronic traction control system, ABS, EBD and more.

Jimny Sales Dipping

Unlike what Maruti Suzuki had expected, the Jimny sales have lately been on the decline. In September this year, only 559 units were sold across India. The manufacturer announced various discounts and benefits to boost sales, and even rolled out a few accessory packages as special edition models.
