India’s One & Only Lykan Hypercarsport Supercar Is Actually Home-Made [Video]
The Lykan Hypersport supercar is something we are sure you would have noticed in the Hollywood movie Fast and Furious 7. In the movie, we hear a bit about the car and also hear the characters say that only seven of these cars were built. Would you believe that we have a Lykan Hypersport supercar here in India? Well, it is not what you think it is.
We know how people in India love creating replica supercars on a budget. This one is also like that, but it is probably one of the cleanest-looking Lykan Hypersport replicas in India. Here, we have a video that shows what the car looks like on the outside and inside.
The video has been shared by Mihir Galat on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks to Tanna Dhaval, who is the person behind this replica. We see the vlogger discussing the inspiration and hard work behind this project. The owner of the Lykan replica mentions that he always had a vision of creating unique models.
He states that it took him almost a year to complete this project, and he is aware that it is not perfect. He is still trying to improve certain aspects of the replica. One of the things he mentions at the beginning is that this replica is based on a Honda Civic, which serves as a great donor car.
This is his second car project. Before this, he created a replica of the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio. He made the body panels of this supercar from metal sheets. The idea behind this was to make it easier to shape and also because metal sheets are easier to maintain in case of a minor dent.
The owner mentions that he took inspiration from a scale model of the Lykan Hypersport and designed the reverse butterfly doors after carefully analyzing the mechanics of the scale model. Coming to the engine, he is using the same engine from the Civic. The front suspension remains stock, but the rear ones are borrowed from a Tata MUV.
The dual-exhaust tip on the car is from a motorcycle, and it is extremely loud. The owner also mentions that he has integrated a flame thrower into the exhaust, which looks dramatic at night.
The interior of the car is also custom-made, and it is now a two-seater supercar. He mentions that, unlike the Lamborghini he made, the Lykan replica has been designed for Indian road conditions. That is why he has opted for a higher ground clearance.
We even see the car being driven on a private road. The quality of work on this particular replica is impressive, and the owner mentions that there have been instances where people have taken out their phones while waiting at signals to capture pictures or videos of the car.
Most of them are amazed to see it, as they are unaware of a car like this. Lamborghinis and Porsches are common on our roads, but that is not the case with the Lykan. The rarity of this car is what makes it a unique project.
