He bought India’s first electric G-Wagen in a deep black shade. The exterior design of the SUV looks very similar to the ICE version of the G-Wagen.
One might even mistake it for a regular G63 AMG. The front grille, headlamps, and bumper all look very similar to the G63 or G400d. The boxy design of the SUV has been retained. The SUV gets premium features like two 12.3-inch displays (one for the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment screen), electrically adjustable seats, heated and cooled seats, multi-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and many more features.
Just like the ICE version, the electric G-Wagen has also been designed for off-roading. It gets independent suspension on the front axle and a stiff axle at the back. The SUV also gets four electric motors, one for each wheel. The G580 EQ is powered by a 116 kWh battery pack that generates 587 PS and 1,164 Nm of peak torque.
The electric SUV has a certified range of 473 km. It supports fast charging and can be charged in just 32 minutes. The SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in just under 5 seconds, and the top speed has been restricted to 180 kmph. The price for a brand-new G580 EQ in India is Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom).Other than this, Mercedes-Benz India has also delivered a G580 EQ to a customer in Surat.
