The BMW i7 electric luxury sedan is getting increasingly popular in the country. In recent times, we have seen many rich people add this car to their respective garages. The latest one to join the line is this Indian grandpa from Tamil Nadu. Mr. Abirami Ramanathan, the renowned businessman and social activist, has added a brand new BMW i7 to his garage, wearing what looks like Brooklyn Grey Metallic paint.

Why Did Abirami Ramanathan Buy The BMW i7?

This businessman is a big name in the textile manufacturing sector and used to own the Abirami Mega Mall in Chennai- which also holds the title of being the first shopping mall and family entertainment centre in India. It, however, closed down in 2019.

In a video shared online by KUN Exclusive- a major BMW dealer in Tamil Nadu, who commenced the delivery, Abirami Ramanathan can be seen talking about his new buy and explaining the purchase experience. He says that the new i7 is his 7th BMW model, and that he has long been a fan of the 7 series and the manufacturer itself. The latest acquisition is the edrive 50 variant- which is in fact, the base variant of the electric sedan.

The businessman’s journey with BMW began when he felt like trying out the 7 series for the first time. He says that he was impressed by the luxury offered by the flagship sedan, the moment he started using it. His wife in particular, was fascinated by the room, comfort and luxury offered by the 7 series. He says that the car is indeed a limousine. The rear leg space and recline function seem to have impressed this entrepreneur and his family. He loved his first 7 series so much that he could not think of moving out of the brand for the next 6 purchases.

This businessman from South India continued to buy BMW 7 series sedans before finally adding the new i7 to his garage. The i7, if you don’t know it yet, is the all-electric version of the 7 series, which doesn’t compromise on luxury, room or comfort offered. Despite it being an electric car, Ramanathan is very optimistic about his upcoming time with the i7. He says that the car will be good for sure since it is a BMW.

The video also shows that he has been a happy and satisfied BMW customer so far. He says that his ownership experience with all the BMWs has been great and he has always had helpful assistance from the dealer whenever he was in need. Having a dedicated customer relation/ service contact point seems to have impressed him. Towards the end of the video, he even says that he will continue to buy BMW cars and SUVs in the future as well.

BMW i7: Quick Look At It

More variants including the base-spec eDrive 50 and range-topping m70 xDrive were all added later. The eDrive 50 variant features a 101.7 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 625 km per charge. The electric motor setup here is capable of producing 537 hp and the car has a top speed of 239 kph.
