Videos of Indian grandpas driving and getting tastes of modern cars and SUVs often gather eyeballs on various social media platforms. A recent video makes things even more interesting. It shows an Indian grandpa taking his grandson's Ford Mustang for a spin, in a closed, controlled space. He, however, chooses to experience the car the right way and pulls off a few donuts with it!

The video starts by showing the grandson handing over the Mustang's key to his granddad. The guy is heard saying "How can it be fair if the granddad doesn't get to have fun when the grandson is around. Here, take the keys and have fun..." He even says "Drive slowly and carefully..." to which the grandfather agrees.

The grandpa gets inside the Mustang and turns the engine on. He then slams the accelerator hard and does a number of donuts. Interestingly, he is seen not wearing the seatbelt!

After having enough fun, he brings the car to a safe halt. The grandson then asks ' what did you just do grandpa?'. The granddad seems chill and replies casually, saying 'long back, when we used to drive tractors, we could drive it for kilometres with the front wheel up in the air'.

This video has impressed the internet and people are showering comments of praise and happiness. Most seem to be appreciative of the grandpa's skills. (Even we are.)

More About The Ford Mustang

Ford launched the Mustang in India in July 2016, putting an end to a long wait by the enthusiasts. Back then, it used to have an ex-showroom price of around 65 lakh rupees. Six colour options were available back then- Absolute Black, Ingot Silver, Oxford White, Triple Yellow Tricoat, Magnetic and the signature Race Red.

The Mustang was brought to India as Completely Built Units (CBUs). It was manufactured at Ford's Flat Rock plant in the US. India got just the 'Mustang GT Fastback' guise, even when Ford had a convertible on sale in many global markets.

The exterior design highlights included 19-inch alloys, automatic bi-xenon projector headlamps, and LED three-dimensional tail lamps. The cabin had features like an 8-inch touch-screen entertainment system, 9-speaker audio, SYNC 2 voice commands, six-way power adjustable (and heated) seats, dual-zone climate control and more.

The muscle car also featured four driving modes- Normal, Sport+, Track and Wet/Snow. The safety suite included the likes of eight airbags, roll-rate sensor, electronic stability program and more.

The Mustang even featured a 'line-lock function' which would lock up front brakes while allowing the rear wheels to spin freely. This allows the driver to pull off easy burnouts.

The sixth-generation Mustang featured a massive 5.0L V8 petrol engine (the Ford Coyote V8) that produces 395 bhp and 515Nm of torque. The global-spec, however, is in a slightly higher state of tune and produces 435bhp. The car also featured independent rear suspension and was indeed a true enthusiast's machine. To give journalists a proper taste of it, Ford conducted the Mustang's media drive at the Buddh International Circuit.

It is extremely difficult for one to buy a Mustang in India today. Ford announced its India-exit in September 2021. The last recorded price of the Mustang GT in India was Rs. 74.61 Lakh. Post exit, the Mustang GT only got pricier! Today, you can find pre-owned Mustangs selling for 75-80 lakh rupees! Cheaper units could come for Rs 65 lakh (which, interestingly, was the price of the GT back when it was on sale here).
