Politics and politicians are not a new topic to Indians. You will find a budding politician in almost every corner of the country. The definition of politics and politicians has changed over the decades. Earlier, politicians used to lead a very humble lifestyle but now, even an emerging young leader will have his own security and convoy. Many of them travel in expensive cars too. Here we have one such leader who bought a Land Rover Defender and a Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV within a week’s gap.

The politician in question here is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He is an Indian politician and a six-term former Member of Parliament as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the social media post shared by the politician, he is seen taking the delivery of his brand new Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV. The post says that the leader picked up his new Land Rover Defender just last week.

So within a week, he bought two vehicles that cost over a crore. The images have been shared by an Instagram page which is likely to have been created by one of his followers to share all updates about him online. On this page, we see videos and posts of Brij Bhushan and his son Prateek Singh Bhushan’s public appearances.

Brij Bhushan Singh’s name became familiar in the news after allegations of sexually assaulting female wrestlers surfaced online. He has also served as the president of the Wrestling Federation of India, and the allegations were raised during his tenure.

Coming back to the cars in the post, the first car is the Land Rover Defender. The Defender is a 110 variant, which is the 5-door version. We checked the number of the vehicle online and found that it wasn’t registered under his name, and we are not surprised either.

The Defender 110 seen here is the diesel variant. It comes with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, connected car features, electrically adjustable front seats, electronic air suspension that can be raised at the touch of a button, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, blind-spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, traction control, leather upholstery, rubber flooring, and more.

It is available with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, and the price for the Land Rover Defender starts at Rs 1.05 crore (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 2.9 crore (ex-showroom).

While the Defender will offer him a towering presence on the road, the Vellfire will ensure that he is driven in comfort almost everywhere he goes. Even the Vellfire has ample road presence, but both these vehicles serve different purposes.

The Vellfire top-end variant, the Executive Lounge Package, costs around Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a strong hybrid system. It generates around 193 PS and 240 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an e-CVT gearbox.
