This CEO Bought India's Most Expensive Number Plate For His Lamborghini Urus [Video]

Last week, we featured a story on our website about an entrepreneur from India who bought the most expensive registration number for his newly purchased Lamborghini Urus Performante SUV. The owner of the car is Venu Gopalakrishnan, and here we have a video where we get a glimpse of some more cars in Venu’s garage, along with the story behind buying the most expensive number plate in the country.
The video has been shared by Baiju N Nair on his YouTube channel. In this video, the presenter interviews Venu Gopalakrishnan about his taste in cars and also about his company. He is the owner of a leading IT company named Litmus7.
The video starts by talking about the two cars in his garage that were seen in the video. One of them is a Lamborghini Sterrato, which is an off-road-ready supercar. It is a very special car for Lamborghini, as the brand will only be producing limited numbers. Specifically, Lamborghini will manufacture only 1,499 units of the Sterrato globally.
Next to it is the Lamborghini Urus Performante. Venu mentions that he was not present in India when the auction was happening. He was travelling in New Zealand for work. He had asked his team to participate in the auction and advised them not to spend more than 7–8 lakh on the number. He said this because he bought the number 7000 for his Sterrato for only a couple of lakhs.
Soon after the auction started, his team told him the bids were quite aggressive, and the number had already crossed the 7–8 lakh mark. Venu asked them to continue bidding, but after a point, he really became competitive and finally bought the number for Rs 46 lakh. Only after the auction ended did he realise that he had bought the most expensive registration number in the country. The owner mentions that the Lamborghini Urus cost him around Rs 6.6 crore on-road.
The reason why he bought these cars is because he wants to collect examples of different types of engines. The Sterrato is a naturally aspirated V10, while the Urus uses a V8.
Apart from this, he also owns a Porsche 911 Turbo S, which is his first sports car. He mentions that he likes Porsche more than the Lamborghinis and uses it frequently to go to the office. He also owns a BMW X5 and has also ordered a couple of cars.
He has already placed an order for a Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge, and he claims that it is going to be India’s first Ghost Black Badge. He has also placed an order for a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG SUV. He will be spending money on the registration number of both these vehicles when they arrive.
We can hear Venu say that he only spends money on the number of those cars that he intends to keep in his garage for a long time. Apart from those, he also mentioned that he has booked a Porsche GT3 and also aims to buy a McLaren 750S in the future. He is not a huge fan of EVs and hybrid cars, and that is very evident from the cars in his garage.
