When Mahindra first revealed the production-spec BE6, it took the industry by storm. People were instantly impressed by its design. The visual appeal translated well into sales as well. Pumping up the excitement around its design, someone has now created what could probably be India's first BE6 with a solid Yellow wrap! Before you ask, this isn't a render...

In a video shared on Instagram, we see a BE6 that wears a bright Yellow wrap. It now has Yellow on many of its body panels. This owner bought the vehicle in Black. He created a dual-tone colourway by tastefully mixing the wrap with the stock car's Black panels.

You can see Black on the wing mirrors, hood, roof, and portions of the front fascia. The wheel arches get a glossy Black treatment. Even on the stock car, the side and wheel claddings are finished in Gloss Black, regardless of the exterior colourway. The wrap has given the BE6's visual appeal a massive boost. You could even feel it to be the Bumblebee from a Transformers movie of the future.

The owner of his vehicle has a thing for Yellow cars. He also owns a Toyota Fortuner, which has been wrapped in Yellow as well. The SUV also has a series of other modifications done to it, and is quite popular among netizens. The owner here, is an entrepreneur and runs the Ghost 6 Garage in Kerala's Kottayam.

The video has been racking up views on Instagram, recording over 839K plays in the first 22 hours alone. Many users have commented praising the owner for getting his personal trademark on the electric SUV as well. Most people loved the customisation. More interestingly, even Mahindra's design chief Pratap Bose has shown up with a comment. He seems to have liked the solid Yellow- Black colourway.

Mahindra launched the BE6 and XEV 9e in November last year. These are underpinned by the carmaker's new, in-house developed INGLO platform. Two battery choices are offered- 59 kWh and 79 kWh- both sourced from BYD. Three broad trims are available- Pack ONE, TWO and THREE. The electric SUV has its ex-showroom price in the range of Rs 18.9- 26.90 lakh.

The electric motor sits on the rear axle and produces 286hp and 380 Nm on the top-spec. Lower variants come with slightly lower power figures. The carmaker claims a range of 682 km per charge on the 79 KWh battery pack and the real-world figures could be around 500-520 km.

The design uses sharp lines and clean surfaces. There is a sense of edginess to it. The cabin follows a cockpit-like theme. It makes generous use of premium trims and soft-touch materials. Notable highlights inside are a double-D cut steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo and mounted controls, powered driver seat with memory function and manual lumbar support, frameless IRVM, cabin camera, AR-based HUD, panoramic glass roof with integrated lighting elements, split-folding rear seats, charging ports, wireless charger, etc.

The feature list also includes a large central touchscreen, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that comes with Dolby Atmos, digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, selectable drive modes, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA update support and more.

The suspension setup on the BE6 consists of MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. It also uses tech like Monroe Intelligent Suspension CVSAe and frequency selective damping. You would find it to be slightly on the firmer side, but the engineers at Mahindra have somehow managed to strike a likeable balance between ride quality and handling.
