Indian businessman and film financier Sunny Nanasaheb Waghchoure is known for his love for Gold. He loves to wear heavy Gold ornaments and even has all his cars Gold-plated. Waghchoure owns several expensive cars and SUV. A rather humble possession is a Mahindra Scorpio-N, which he has covered in Gold as well. It is currently the only Gold-plated Scorpio-N in the country. Now Waghchoure has added more exclusivity to his Golden Scorpio by installing platinum embellishments, parts and accessories.

This Indian businessman owns a large collection of cars and SUV. The latest video shared on social media shows his Gold-plated Scorpio-N getting more pieces of expensive metals. The SUV just got a level 1 body kit from 'Saiga Parts'- an accessories and car parts shop in Haryana.

Due to his love for Gold and the long line of Gold-covered cars that he own, Waghchoure is known by the name ' Golden Man of Pune'. He has financed many Bollywood movies and is also a partner of Vivek Oberoi in some of his businesses. The two co-runs a company called Karm Infrastructure.

Mahindra Scorpio-N: Quick Look At The Specifications

Mahindra launched the Scorpio-N in India in June 2022. At the time of writing this article, this SUV is priced from 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The range-topping variant has an ex-showroom price of 24.89 lakh.

The Scorpio-N is a sizeable improvement over the vehicle it replaces- the Scorpio. It is better-looking, more comfortable to be in and better engineered. It comes with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variants are powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol- mStallion that produces 203hp and up to 380 Nm.

The diesel engine is the same that does duty on multiple Mahindra models like the Thar, XUV700 and Thar ROXX- the tried and tested 2.2L, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel. It is available in two states of tune. The lower one produces 132hp and 300Nm while the higher one makes 175hp and 370Nm (400 Nm on the automatic). Both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission are available.

Both 2 Wheel drive (2WD) and 4 wheel drive (4WD) are available. The lower variants get 2WD, in fact Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) while the top variants feature Mahindra’s new 4 XPLOR 4WD system wirth a low-range mode. Interestingly, the 4WD hardware is available only on diesel variants.

The SUV also comes with a mechanical locking rear differential, ESP-based brake locking front differential, an independent front suspension system and a five-link rear suspension. Plus, there are terrain modes as well- Normal, Grass/Gravel/ Snow, Mud/Rut, and Sand.

Scorpio-N Cabin Design And Features

The cabin feels well laid-out and comfortable. It gets a dual-tone dashboard. Key features include a 8-inch touch-screen with AdrenoX infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 12-speaker 3D Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, analog dials with a large coloured MID, front and rear camera, auto start-stop, cruise control, Type-C USB ports for the first and second row, keyless go, wireless charging and more.

A 7-seater layout is standard across variants. The top-spec Z8 Luxury trim can, however, be had as a 6-seater as well. The 6-seater gets captain chairs for the second row.

A total of five trims are available: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8 Luxury. The petrol engine comes in Z2, Z4, Z8 and Z8L and the automatic gearbox is offered upwards of the Z4 trim.

In terms of safety equipment, the Scorpio-N gets up to six airbags, ESP, traction control system, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, tire pressure monitoring system, driver drowsiness detection system and more.
