The Fronx is a popular model from Maruti Suzuki. It is retailed through the Nexa series of showrooms. It is essentially a crossover based on the Baleno with more ground clearance and a notably better design. If you have ever thought of buying a Fronx and modifying it, here's a reference to consider. This owner has modified his ride into what could be the 'Wildest' Fronx in India.

India's Wildest Modified Fronx: Details

This car is owned by Rizwan Ahmed. Almost every area of its design has been tastefully enhanced/modified. The exterior is finished in a shade that resembles Nardo Grey. You get to find touches of Red in several places. This combination looks sporty and appealing. The grille and the Suzuki logo on it have all been Blacked out. A complete de-chroming has also happened on this Fronx. A premium PPF (Paint Protection Film) has also been applied.

There are several decals and graphics on the bodywork. The vehicle gets additional skirtings and aftermarket bumpers. The body kit has been neatly done and adds an air of seriousness to the vehicle. It looks particularly attractive from the rear. There is even an integrated roof spoiler.

At the front, you can also see a faux hood scoop and auxiliary lights. The alloy wheels are aftermarket units too. These are shod with upsized tyres.

The interior has also seen significant reworks. The car has been fitted with Sparco seat belts. It also has a major audio upgrade gone into it. Rizwan has mentioned the same in one of his posts. He says that the audio unit now offers supreme bass levels.

We are not sure about the changes gone into the mechanical side. The engine could be running a better map now. But what we know for sure is that the car gets a 'Valvetronic exhaust' system. A reel posted on Instagram lets us experience the sound produced by this aftermarket unit. The Valvetronic setup is also known to improve performance.

Maruti Fronx: More About It

The Fronx was launched in India in April 2023. It offers two engine options- a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol. The NA petrol produces 90 PS and 113 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions.

The turbocharged petrol engine, on the other hand, is much more powerful and makes 100 hp and 148 Nm. The gearbox choices here are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic (torque converter).

In addition to these, Maruti Suzuki also has a CNG dual-fuel version of the Fronx on sale. Based on the 1.2-litre NA engine, it has an output of 78 PS and 99 Nm. Just the 5-speed manual gearbox is available on the CNG version.

The crossover has the likes of a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, and auto AC. Passenger safety is taken care of by up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera in its equipment list.

Courtesy of its ongoing Joint Venture (JV) with Maruti Suzuki, Toyota sells a rebadged version of the Fronx, under the name Taisor. It gets minor restyling- both on the exterior and inside the cabin, but no mechanical changes. It is offered with the same set of engines and transmissions as the Fronx.
