Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin's Crazy Car Convoy Has 19 Innovas, 4 Fortuners, 1 Range Rover [Video]

Chief Ministers across India often travel with extensive security convoys. Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin's convoy could impress car enthusiasts. He has made several public appearances with the same. The latest of these show him travelling through water-logged roads in Tamil Nadu. We get to see the various vehicles included in the convoy.

The video starts by showing a water-logged road. Several policemen can be seen keeping a watch on the minister's convoy and giving instructions for his safe passage. A White Toyota Innova, used by the VIP escort personnel, comes first. It is fitted with loud, aftermarket horns and auxiliary lamps (These, despite being illegal, are common in Tamil Nadu).

Four Black Innovas can be seen following it. These are fitted with surveillance cameras and extended running boards, and even get external cages. These vehicles are used by the CM's commandos. The extended running boards and cages will be of use for them to stand safely while the vehicle is in motion.

Behind the four MPVs, comes a Range Rover finished in the Lantau Bronze colourway. Stalin has been spotted multiple times with this SUV. He is often noted for his fondness towards Land Rover, as he has owned several Land Rover and Range Rover SUVs over the years... We have seen him with an older generation Range Rover finished in White, and a new-gen Range Rover wearing Black.

The Tamil Nadu CM also has a couple of Land Rover Defender 110s in his garage. Both these are diesel SE variants, powered by the 3.0-litre diesel engine that makes 296 bhp and 650 Nm. His public appearance with these SUVs created a buzz among enthusiasts.

Circling back to the video, another Black Innova is seen following the luxury SUV. Behind it, we get to see two Toyota Fortuners, both finished in Black. One of these vehicles is reportedly bullet-proof. One of these SUVs is equipped with network jammers. These are followed by several more Innovas. The video ends before we get a full view of the convoy. We can, however, conclude that a White Toyota Fortuner Legender is also part of it.

Going by a previous sighting, Stalin's convoy could have at least 15 Innovas! He undoubtedly has one of the most extensive and the costliest convoys among politicians. We have also seen him with a 1.5 crore Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV. The new generation Vellfire comes with a stronger focus on luxury and occupant comfort, than its predecessor. It is powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine that produces 193 bhp and 240 Nm of torque.

While this convoy is undeniably impressive on camera, it doesn’t always sit well with the public. In Tamil Nadu, roads are often blocked and traffic rerouted to allow the convoy smooth passage. This often leads to public frustration due to delays and disruptions in daily commuting.

Stalin's Convoy Was Once Cut Short!

In 2021, Stalin instructed the police to reduce the size of his convoy. He said that the long and extensive convoy was causing inconvenience to the public. Their vehicles are often stopped to facilitate the movement of the CM's convoy. Following this, the size of the convoy was brought down to six, from 12. The police force was further instructed to ensure the smooth movement of the convoy without disturbing the people around. It was a rare and commendable move by a sitting CM. However, it looks like over time, the convoy has expanded again to meet current security protocols.
