BMW 5-Series Sedan And Hyundai Santro Xing Thrown Off 500-Foot Cliff In A 'Science Experiment': Here's The Result [Video]

Under the pretext of a “Science Experiment,” popular YouTubers and influencers are now doing some of the craziest things. These people are throwing cars off a cliff and naming it a “Car Drop Test.” Recently, a video has been shared online in which a Hyundai Santro hatchback and an older-generation BMW 5-Series were pushed off a cliff into a 500-foot drop. As expected, both these cars were completely annihilated after they fell.
This video of the Hyundai Santro and BMW 5-Series getting pushed off a cliff has been shared on Instagram by Scroll With Babaa on their channel. It starts off with a few people pushing an old white Hyundai Santro from the top of a mountain. We can note that the vehicle was initially going straight. However, it then hit a massive boulder on the way to the bottom.
As a result of this, it turned sideways and then started rolling over. The video shows that due to these barrel rolls over large rocks, the entire roof of this vehicle was destroyed. Also, all the windows and glass were broken. However, despite this horrific fall, the overall shape of the vehicle was still somewhat decent.
Following this, the clip then shows the same people pushing a few-generations-old BMW 5-Series sedan, finished in silver. It can be seen that, like the Santro, this vehicle also went straight ahead for some distance. However, when the slope became extremely steep, the front bumper first broke off, and immediately after that, the driver-side airbag deployed.
We can also observe that before falling further, the headlights of the BMW turned on for the last time. It then fell off another cliff, and during this, the side skirts, rear bumper, and wheels broke off. It finally crashed head-on and was left flipped over at the bottom of the mountain. Finally, the vlogger mentions that as a result of this fall, the entire vehicle has been destroyed.
The main reason behind doing such “Science Experiments” has very little to do with actual science. Generally, YouTubers and influencers create such videos to get a lot of views, likes, followers, and subscribers on their channel. What happens is that, generally, we do not see cars or other valuable things getting destroyed.
So when someone shares such a video, it becomes viral immediately. This then helps such creators make more money, and as they start earning more, the magnitude of their so-called “Science Experiments” increases.
As for the true value of these cars that were thrown off the cliff, they are not as expensive because these old vehicles are procured from scrap yards, where they would have been destroyed anyway. The Santro used in this video would be around ₹30,000-40,000. Meanwhile, the BMW 5-Series would have been around ₹3-4 lakh. Most likely, this person would have made the entire amount back due to the video getting so many views on different social media platforms.
Over the last few years, we have seen multiple such experiment videos. Among these, the most popular ones have been created by American YouTuber WhistlinDiesel. He once bought a red Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and did extreme tests on it to show its durability. He also did the same with a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
