Internet Trolls Actor for 'Upgrading' from BMW to Brand-New Hyundai Creta [Video]

Actors and actresses in India and around the world lead a lavish lifestyle. This is part of their profession. Some actors are more successful than others and lead a more luxurious life. However, some actors also own mass-market cars.

Recently, a video of a television actor buying a Hyundai Creta surfaced online. After the video went viral, people trolled him for calling the Creta an upgrade, especially since he already owns a BMW.

The video was shared by Bollytalks on their Instagram page, while the original video was posted by the actor on his personal Instagram profile. In the video, television actor Karan Veer Mehra, who is also the winner of reality shows Bigg Boss 18 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, arrives at a Hyundai dealership in a BMW X5 luxury SUV to take delivery of his brand-new Hyundai Creta.

It appears that the vlogger who posted the video didn’t agree with the idea of calling the Creta an upgrade. He shared the video with the caption:"Bro went from a BMW to a Hyundai Creta! That's a downfall, not an upgrade. Who is going to tell him?"

The comment section under the video suggests that the Hyundai Creta was not actually purchased by the actor but was a gift after winning the reality show. However, these claims are unverified.

While some comments mock the actor, others defend him. One comment reads:

"It's a gift... a winning prize! He came in a BMW but is still proud of his Creta because not everything should be valued monetarily. This shows what kind of person he is. Posting such news shows how petty your thinking is, and you call yourself a news account."

Whatever the reason may be, trolling someone for buying a new car is unnecessary. In this case, the actor arrived at the dealership in a previous-generation BMW X5. It is possible that he bought a used model to experience owning a luxury car without spending too much.

These vehicles depreciate quickly, and the NGT's 10-year rule on diesel cars further lowers their resale value. This means you can buy such SUVs for the price of a compact SUV. The BMW X5 seen in the video is an older-generation model. While the X5 is undoubtedly a premium SUV, it lacks many modern features found in newer cars.

The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, offers premium features such as Level 2 ADAS, which is absent in the BMW X5. The luxury SUV also lacks features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and more. A used BMW X5 can be purchased for anywhere between ₹10-15 lakh, depending on its condition and age. Meanwhile, a brand-new top-end Hyundai Creta costs over ₹21 lakh on-road.
