Traffic jams are common in most metro cities. In such long traffic jams, emergency vehicles often get stuck, causing problems. In places like Kerala, we have seen drivers and riders automatically make way for emergency vehicles. Here, we have one such video from Karnataka, where a scooter rider is seen clearing the traffic to make way for an ambulance stuck in a jam.

The video has been shared by Banswara Flex on their Instagram page. The exact location of this incident is not known, but it is somewhere in Bengaluru. The scooter rider, who is on the wrong side of the road, notices an ambulance stuck in the traffic jam with its siren turned on. The rider approaches the ambulance driver and asks if he is carrying a patient who needs urgent medical attention.

The ambulance driver confirms that he is carrying an emergency case. Without thinking twice, the scooter rider starts riding towards the traffic signal. All these vehicles were stuck because of the red light at the intersection.

The scooter rider continues on the wrong side and parks next to the zebra crossing on the opposite lane. He then rushes to a cab driver who was waiting for the signal. He requests the cab driver to make way, but the driver mentions that there is traffic coming from the other direction and he can’t cross.

The person recording the video notices this and immediately jumps in front of the oncoming vehicle. He asks the Royal Enfield rider to stop, and by then, the cab driver gets a chance to slowly move forward. Once this happens, the traffic starts moving smoothly from the direction where the ambulance was stuck.

Within no time, the ambulance is free, and the driver can probably make his way to the hospital on time. In this video, we see that there was a police car waiting for its turn in the opposite direction, but the officers never got out. The cop car moves forward, but by the time they come out, the issue is already resolved.

In many cities like Bengaluru, making way for emergency vehicles is a challenging task. In many places, the roads are very narrow, and people are forced to remain in their lane as there is no space to move. Many people ignore the siren and lights of the ambulance, which is actually a punishable offense. In some cities, there are dedicated lanes for emergency vehicles, but they are often used by cars when there is congestion on the road. Blocking the way of an emergency vehicle is an offense and can result in heavy fines. This rule applies not just to ambulances but to any emergency vehicle.

We really appreciate the fact that the scooter rider spotted the ambulance at the right time and managed to resolve the issue. However, while we acknowledge his help and assistance, we cannot ignore the fact that he was riding on the wrong side of the road. He shouldn’t have done that, as it is extremely dangerous. In the past, we have seen several incidents where traffic cops have asked people to move their vehicles to the shoulder of the road to make way for an ambulance stuck in traffic.
