Bollywood Actor Ishaan Khatter Seen In MG Cyberster Even Before Official Launch: What's Going On

In an interesting turn of events, actor Ishaan Khatter was spotted driving an MG Cyberster electric sports car on the streets of Mumbai. MG hasn't launched this car in the Indian market yet. Fans thought the actor had bought the Yellow Cyberster. The truth, however, could be different.
We see the actor driving into what looks like the premises of a hotel/resort. We see the car being driven slowly through a speed-breaker before it is brought to a complete stop. Khatter then gets out of the Cyberster, opening its electric scissor doors. Dressed in a half-tucked beige shirt and dark brown trousers, he then poses for a few pictures.
The Cyberster in the video has a Red trade-certificate (TC) plate that reads GJ 17 C0026 TC 35. JSW MG Motor India's manufacturing facility is located in Halol, Gujarat. Most of their test cars and fleet vehicles wear GJ plates. The Cyberster seen here could belong to MG's marketing or media fleet.
So why was the actor driving it? Well, there are several possibilities. He could have been taking a detailed test drive, to experience the car the right way. Brands often lend their products to celebrities and High-Networth Individuals (HNIs) for a couple of days, so that they get to experience them properly and evaluate if they suit their lifestyle and specific use cases. Endorsements from public figures will also help MG place the Cyberster properly in our market. It will further attract huge crowds to it.
Another possibility is a brand partnership. MG could be mulling over roping in Khatter as the brand face for the Cyberster. In this case, we would get to see the actor in various campaigns and ad films. At the time of writing this article, the carmaker hasn't revealed any such partnerships.
Khatter is now basking in the success of the Netflix series 'The Royals'. Since the release of the series, he has turned heads with each of his public appearances.
The Cyberster is expected to go on sale in late June, and could have a price of around 60 lakh, ex-showroom. The two-door electric roadster was previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The Cyberster has a sleek and futuristic design. It takes clear inspiration from the original MG B Roadster from the 60s. Key design details include full-LED lighting, electric scissor doors, electric canvas top, split diffuser, side skirts, and 19/20 inch wheels.
You will also get to see several radar sensors on the outside. The vehicle will come with an anti-punch technology as well. The India-spec will have minimal design deviations from the one sold outside. MG could offer selectable colour options for the soft top as well. We will get to know more about this closer to the launch.
The Cyberster is, in fact, the fastest MG electric car! It is expected to come with a dual-motor setup, powered by a large 77 kWh battery pack. This powertrain will be able to produce 510 hp and 725Nm. MG claims the AWD Cyberster to do the 0-100kph sprint in just 3.2 seconds. Expect a range of 580 kilometers per charge on this variant.
The suspension will have double wishbones at the front and a five-link unit at the rear. The carmaker says that this setup will deliver a sweet balance between dynamics and comfort. The car is claimed to have a 50:50 weight distribution, which could further improve its road manners.
