Truck Slips Off Ghat Road: Isuzu V-Cross Rescues [Video]

Driving on hilly roads or ghat sections is extremely dangerous. If you are not careful, the chances of driving the vehicle off the road or creating a traffic jam are pretty high. While driving on such stretches, heavy vehicle drivers have to be extra cautious as their vehicles take up more space to turn on narrow roads. They often go off the road and create congestion. Here, we have a video of one such truck that had swerved off the road and blocked traffic on a ghat section. The truck was rescued with the help of an Isuzu V-Cross pickup driver.

The video was shared by Shrinivas Chate on his Instagram page. It was recorded from Amboli Ghat, Maharashtra. In the video, we see a medium-duty truck from Eicher blocking the traffic on Amboli Ghat. The truck probably slipped off the road, and before the driver could correct the steering, it turned and completely blocked the road.

People gathered around the truck and started helping the driver get the vehicle out. They tried pushing the truck’s front wheel out of the trench on the side of the road. No matter how hard they pushed, the truck didn’t move from its position, causing traffic to build up, and people started getting restless.

At this point, we see an Isuzu V-Cross driver come closer to the truck. It’s unclear whether the pickup was passing through the stretch or if it was called for the rescue. We see a man get out of the V-Cross with a recovery rope. The truck was lying across the road, and the recovery was going to be tricky.

The pickup driver was probably experienced. He, along with others who had gathered, noticed a huge tree behind the truck. They tied the rope behind the truck and then wrapped it around the tree before attaching it to the Isuzu. This way, the tree acted as an anchor point, keeping the truck stable during the rescue.

The Isuzu started pulling the truck, and along with the pickup, people assisted by pushing the truck back. The truck driver only needed a slight push, as it was only the front wheels that were stuck in the ditch. The rear-wheel-drive truck smoothly came out within seconds.

This video shows how important it is to use the right technique while recovering a stuck vehicle. If the Isuzu driver hadn’t put the rope around the tree, the truck might have shifted, making the recovery more difficult. There was even a chance that the truck could have toppled, as pressure was being applied to the side instead of the rear, where it was needed.

Always be careful while driving on hilly roads, and avoid moving off the road under any circumstances. In many areas, the ground beyond the tarmac is extremely soft or slippery, which can easily lead to incidents like the one shown here.

The Isuzu also performed well as it pulled the SUV without any drama. However towing heavy vehicles like these on a daily basis can actually cause problem to the vehicle as it puts lot of pressure on the engine of the vehicle.
