The Jaguar XJ-L, which was once one of the most desirable flagship luxury sedans in the market, has now become a rare find. What’s even rarer is finding an XJ-L that has been abandoned and is rotting in an open parking lot. As sad as this is, there is one such Jaguar XJ-L that has been left in Pune to rot outside. Recently, a video showing this poor Jaguar XJ-L in a dilapidated condition has been shared online.

This video, showing the Jaguar XJ-L left to rot in Pune, has been shared on Instagram by Pune Automotives on their page. It starts with the side-profile shot of this half-covered flagship sedan from the British luxury carmaker. After this, the video shows the front end of this vehicle.

We can note that this particular Jaguar XJ-L has something wrong at the front. The damage, although not visible, can be inferred as the front bumper is not fully bolted on. Apart from this, the rest of the vehicle does not seem to have any damage. It looks in a bad state because it has been parked in the open without a proper cover.

Why has this Jaguar XJ-L been abandoned?

At the moment, we do not know exactly why this Jaguar XJ-L has been abandoned by its owner. Our guess is that it could be related to some repair going wrong, rendering the vehicle useless. However, nothing concrete can be said about it. There are no sources that have provided the story behind this sedan’s abandonment.

It should be noted that the vehicle itself is not a very old model of the Jaguar XJ-L. As per the registration details, it is a 2017 model year car with the facelifted front-end design. This particular XJ-L is the Portfolio variant, which at the time was priced at around Rs 1.2 crore.

The 2017 Jaguar XJ-L Portfolio came equipped with a 2.0-litre inline-four turbo petrol engine. This engine was capable of producing 237 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. It came mated to an 8-speed gearbox, and all the power was sent to the rear wheels.

Abandoned Rolls Royce Phantom

Seeing a Jaguar XJ-L abandoned is already a sad sight. However, you know what’s even sadder? Seeing a Rolls Royce Phantom abandoned. Back in May of this year, a video showing a Rolls Royce Phantom VII rotting outside a building was shared online. It was noted that the entire air suspension was broken, and the vehicle had completely sagged down.

Apart from this, the windshield of this sedan was also broken, and it was covered with dust and dirt. As for the story behind the abandonment of this particular Rolls Royce, it was reported that this sedan belonged to a man named Gautam Kundu. He was the chairman of the Rose Valley Group of Companies.

For those who may not remember, this particular company was involved in a massive financial scam that made headlines in 2015. It was reported that the company duped its investors of Rs 17,000 crore. The owners of this company had set it up in a way in which its primary victims came from rural areas.

Following this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in March 2015, arrested Kundu and managed to seize this Rolls Royce Phantom. Apart from this sedan, total properties worth Rs 1,117.71 crore were also seized.
