Mahindra Jeep Swept Away By Flash Flood While Crossing River: Driver Rescued [Video]

Many North Indian states are experiencing heavy rainfall, and low-lying areas and streets are filled with water. Punjab is one of the states that has suffered in this flood, and we have seen several videos coming from Punjab that show the same. Going out or exploring outdoors is risky during such times, and we request people to stay away from such adventure sports. Here we have a video where a group of off-road vehicle owners exploring trails during the rains met with trouble. A Jeep got caught in the flow of the river and was completely submerged.
The video has been shared by Aaruksh on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see the vlogger and his friends in SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Maruti Jimny, and Gypsy exploring an off-road trail. It is raining outside, and it looks like they were all having fun.
After driving through the sandy trails for some time, they came across a section where they had to cross a small slushy patch. At the time of this activity, it was raining. The SUVs started exploring the tracks and finally reached a point where they had to cross a river.
However, there was a problem. Due to heavy rains, there was a flash flood, and the river’s water level had suddenly risen. There were a bunch of vehicles on the other side of the trail, stuck because of the flooded river.
The current was very strong, and the water levels were rising constantly. One of the SUV owners on the other side of the road decided to cross the river. He drove into the water, and within seconds, he realized that it was a wrong call.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, and in no time it got caught in the river’s flow and was swept away. There were two people in the Jeep, and they were both clinging to it when the vehicle got stuck at one point.
The SUV was completely submerged in the river, and the occupants were fighting for their lives. Other group members started throwing ropes with tow hooks to the occupants, but they were unable to reach that far. After several unsuccessful attempts, they finally called an excavator. The backhoe loader eventually started making some progress.
It extended the rear arm towards the men after the operator found sturdy ground next to the river. He extended the arm and carefully asked the men trapped on the Jeep to get onto the scoop. Once both the driver and his partner got on, the operator pulled the arm back and brought them to safety.
The backhoe loader once again returned and, using the arm, started pulling the Jeep. As the Jeep was completely underwater, finding a proper anchor point was a problem. However, the JCB operator finally managed to get hold of the rear axle of the SUV, held on to it, and pulled the vehicle out.
The video shows how dangerous off-roading can be, and it is a perfect example of why you should always go with a group for such adventure activities. If there had been no backup vehicle, these men would have been stuck in the river or may have even suffered serious injuries.
