7 Mahindra Thar Woman Owners Surprise John Abraham On International Men's Day [Video]

Bollywood actor and producer John Abraham is an avid auto enthusiast. He is particularly fond of SUVs and also owns several high-end motorcycles and superbikes. Earlier this month, seven women drove their Mahindra Thar SUVs to his office in Mumbai to surprise the actor on International Men’s Day (November 19th) and share their passion for the Mahindra Thar. A video of this was later shared on Mahindra Thar’s official Instagram handle.
As the clip opens, the female Thar owners talk about John Abraham’s passion for cars and SUVs, particularly the Thar. For the uninformed, John has long been associating with Mahindra and even owns a bespoke Mahindra Thar ROXX. He has been quite vocal about his passion for the ‘Thar’ brand and the love for its character.

The ladies drive their vehicles to his office in Mumbai and wait for him in the lounge. The actor soon walks in, creating excitement among the guests. They greet him warmly and wishes him ‘Happy men’s day’. He then takes a seat in one corner of the room, facing the ladies, and interacts with them.
Yes, the guests are excited to see the actor. They are, however, more excited to interact with the ‘Thar enthusiast’ in him! The Indian SUV at this point, seems to be their biggest shared interest!

John starts by asking the ladies the colours of their respective Thars, and adds that Black is his favourite shade. ‘I’m a Black Thar guy’- he says. Surprising him, most of the guests say that they own Black Thars as well! John then admits that he loves the way a Black Thar looks! He also loves the name ‘Thar’. He then talks about his passion for the SUV in more detail. ‘It’s not a personality of its own. It’s like another living being with you’. Words of a true car guy...
One of the visitors then asks him where he got this deep-rooted passion for cars from. In his response, John says that he started loving cars and motorcycles from a very young age-7-9 years, and admits that by 11 , he had his interests niched down to rugged SUVs and off-roaders.

Mahindra CJ 340, he says, played a key role in shaping his love for off-road SUVs. It was in fact, a version of the original Jeep CJ series license-built by Mahindra. We had it here from the late 80s till mid-90s.
The actor’s advice for new drivers is quite simple- ‘Respect your vehicles. Know your engines. Go slow.’ Very sensible words from a true enthusiast... The women then express their interest to ‘see’ John’s bespoke Thar ROXX. The actor happily agrees and takes them to his garage.

It was in March this year that John Abraham took delivery of his Black Thar ROXX. It had several bespoke touches in various areas. Multiple ‘JA’ wordings and badges can be found on the SUV. These can be seen on the fender, C-pillar, seat headrests etc. The metal dashboard ornament has also been customized. John has opted for the range-topping diesel 4x4 with Mocha Brown interior colour scheme. Most Chrome elements on this vehicle have been blacked out, including the 4x4 logo. It looks great.

The women seem to notice most of these details and are quite impressed by them. They then pose for a picture with the actor and even go on a drive together.

Over the years, we have seen John with a bunch of butch, capable SUVs and off-roaders. He has an Isuzu V Cross in his garage, which looks quite intimidating with its aftermarket grille, off-road-spec metal bumper, aftermarket wheels and chunky off-road tyres.
This is reportedly the top-end High+ trim, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 145hp and 350Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. John is really fond of this vehicle and can often be seen driving it on Mumbai roads.
He used to own a Maruti Gypsy as well, which he donated to the Animal Matter To Me (AMTM), an NGO that rescues, rehabilitates, and cares for stray, abandoned, and injured animals. After associating with it for five years, John made the donation in 2020.
In the past, we have seen this actor own fast and expensive cars like Nissan GT-R, Lamborghini Gallardo, amd more. John is, however, most known for his interest in bikes. Even today, he owns several high-end motorcycles and superbikes.
The collection now has the likes of Suzuki Hayabusa, Yamaha V-Max 60th Anniversary edition, Kawasaki ZX-14R, Honda CBR 1000RR, Aprilia RSV4 RF, Yamaha YZF-R1, Ducati Panigale V4, MV Agusta F3 800, KTM Duke 390, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Kawasaki ZX11-D2, Ducati Diavel and more.
