On social media, it is common for us to come across videos showing wealthy businessmen taking deliveries of brand-new sports cars and luxury cars. Most such videos go viral and amass massive viewership. Recently, T.S Pattabhiraman, the chairman of Kalyan Silks, bought a brand-new Range Rover Autobiography, which now has an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.57 crores in India. Unlike many who take deliveries of their new vehicles from dealerships, this billionaire had his new Autobiography LWB home delivered. A video of this was later shared online by Muthoot Land Rover, the dealer in Kochi.

The Video

It starts by showing Omkara Mansion, the billionaire’s residence in Kerala’s Thrissur. As the gate opens, we can see his Mercedes Maybach S680 and a Blue BMW 3-series parked inside. Then a Range Rover Sport is seen, rolling in front of a covered flat bed.

Then, Pattabhiraman completes the paperwork and receives the key. Later in the clip, the delivery truck’s door opens, and the Range Rover Autobiography rolls out slowly. It is finished in Fuji White. The family then welcomes the luxury SUV and finally poses for pictures with it. Towards the end of the video, we see the billionaire taking the SUV for a spin.

More About The Range Rover Autobiography

The Range Rover Autobiography is available in both standard wheelbase and long wheelbase (LWB) forms, and is quite popular among the affluent. Late last year, Land Rover started manufacturing it in India. This resulted in a massive cut of Rs 56 lakh in its ex-showroom prices. The recently announced reforms in GST structure (GST 2.0) shaved off more from its price tag. At the time of writing, the Range Rover Autobiography LWB costs Rs 2.57 Crores, ex-showroom, before options.

The Autobiography LWB is the most luxurious a Range Rover can get. It has a strong focus on occupant comfort and luxury. The cabin is quite spacious and comes packed with features. The digital real estate inside consists of a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Pivi Pro, two 11.4-inch rear entertainment screens, and a digital instrument cluster.

Other features include a four-zone climate control, a 35-speaker Meridian audio, electronically controlled sun blinds, a high-grade air-purification system, 24-way heated and cooled front seats with electric adjustments and massage functions, and a 3D surround camera. The front centre console comes with an integrated refrigerator and the rear gets Executive Class seats- this is where the bosses ride!

Before moving into the mechanical details, let’s discuss the Autobiography LWB’s dimensions. It spans 5.2 metres in length and 2.2 meters in width. The LWB has a wheelbase of 3,197 mm. The standard Autobiography has a 2997mm wheelbase. Billionaires mostly prefer the LWB version due to its upper hand in offering space and comfort.

The Range Rover Autobiography LWB is powered by a 3.0L straight-six mild-hybrid petrol engine that makes 394 bhp and 550 Nm. The 0-100 kph sprint is done in 5.9 seconds, and the top speed is 242 kph. The luxury SUV also comes with an electronic air suspension and an open differential with brake torque vectoring.
