Buses being driven recklessly on the road is a common sight in India. We have seen this reckless behavior cause accidents on the road as well. In most cases, bus drivers are stopped by locals and are asked to pay for the damage or the bus is taken into custody. Here we have a video from Kerala where a Kerala State Transport Corporation bus driver repaired a car on the spot using toothpaste after the bus he was driving rubbed against a Hyundai Grand i10 Nios car.

The video has been shared by News One Wayanad on their Instagram page. The video mentions that the accident happened in Kalpetta town of Wayanad district. As per the video, the KSRTC bus was traveling from Ernakulam to Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad.

The bus rubbed against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in Kalpetta town and the driver of the car blocked the way and questioned the reckless behavior of the bus driver. Both drivers argued and this created congestion on the road. Both parties argued for a while and finally the car owner asked the driver to let go of the issue if the bus driver fixed the scratch on his car’s rear bumper.

As seen in the video, the rear bumper of the car had red paint marks from the metal body panels of the KSRTC bus. It doesn’t look like the car bumper had suffered any major damage. In fact, it looks like the bus driver might have rubbed the bus against the car while navigating in the town.

The bus driver is seen bringing a tube of toothpaste and he also has a cloth in his hand. He applies the toothpaste on the bumper of the Grand i10 Nios and starts rubbing it. The scratches or the paint marks on the bumper started going away one after the other. Within no time, all the marks were gone.

The locals gathered around the car were actually surprised to see this. The driver of the bus was seen calm in the video and after fixing the scratch, he simply got onto the bus. We assume even the car owner wasn’t expecting this hack to work. The issue was actually causing a delay to the bus and it was also causing inconvenience to the passengers who were in the bus.

The toothpaste trick has been around for a while now. In fact, we really appreciate the presence of mind of the bus driver who thought of this trick in that situation. Toothpaste can be used to fix minor scratches on the bumper of a car.

Due to its mild abrasive properties, it acts like fine sandpaper and gently buffs out any imperfections. It should be noted that this hack only works on minor scratches.

Coming to the video, blocking the way of a government bus is not the right thing to do as the driver can legally move against the car driver for causing obstruction and not allowing a government employee to perform his duty. Ideally, the car driver should have noted the vehicle number and reported him to the police station if he felt the bus was being driven recklessly.
