Indian Couple Make Omelettes With Hyundai Ioniq 5 Electric SUV's V2L Feature [Video]

A lot of people think that electric cars just solve the problem of mobility. However, these electric cars are capable of helping it's buyers in more ways than people would imagine. In a lot of electric vehicles there is a feature called V2L or Vehicle-to-Load where the electric car works as a generator which can help in operating small electrical appliances. Recently showing how this exact feature in a Hyundai Ioniq 5 was used to cook eggs on the side of a road has been shared online.
This video showing a couple cooking eggs on the side of a road with help of the V2L feature has been shared on Instagram. It comes courtesy of Deepu Unni on their page. In this short video we can note that a Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover SUV was parked on the side of a road. Along with it there was a couple who was standing next to with the boot open.
We can see that this couple was not stranded on the side of the road, rather they were cooking their breakfast. The couple had connected their electric induction cooktop to the vehicle with the help of the V2L adapter which the company offers with the Ioniq 5. This adapter fits into the charging port of the vehicle and on the other end it has a traditional plug point in which small electrical appliances can be connected.
In the clip we can note that the couple had added two eggs on a pan and then added two slices of bread. They then flipped the eggs and bread and used the lid as a serving dish. All of this was done while they were on the side of what seems to be a national highway in Madhya Pradesh. The couple is actually from Kerala and the vehicle has a Kerala registration number.
As mentioned above, the vehicle used in the video is a Hyundai Ioniq 5. This premium electric crossover SUV is priced at Rs 46.5 lakh and it comes with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) features. Powering this electric vehicle is a single electric motor which makes 217 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of torque.
As for the battery pack, it comes equipped with a 72.6 kWh lithium-ion battery. This helps it in offering an impressive range of 631 km on a single full charge. It is also capable of supporting 800V fast charging. This battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in 18 minutes.
As surprising as it may be for some people to see cooking using an electric car, this is not the first that has happened. Just a couple of months ago, we shared a clip where a man was seen cooking instant noodles “Maggie” using the same V2L feature in his Tata Curvv.ev. In this short clip, the Curvv.ev was also seen powering an electric induction cooktop on which Maggie was being cooked in a vessel. Prior to this another video was shared online in which a man was seen using the same to fry Puris.
The recently launched MG Windsor Pro and the Hyundai Creta Electric also offer the same V2L feature. This particular feature is very useful for people who love to go on camping trips. They can use their vehicle as a generator to power lights, speakers, induction cooktops and other small appliances which increase the comfort while enjoying the outside lifestyle.
