Many people who are reading this article would have learned how to drive a car from a driving school near your place. Most of these driving school often uses inexpensive cars like Maruti Alto, 800 to be safe or minimise the cost of repair in case of an accident. However, things are slowly changing and we now have driving schools that are training their students in bigger hatchbacks and sedans. However here we have a video where a driving school in Kerala is actually using a BMW X3 luxury SUV to train its students.

The video has been shared by Suvid Vijayan on his Instagram page. The person recorded this video during his visit to Thiruvananthapuram or Trivandrum as many call it. He spotted a white coloured BMW X3 in front of his vehicle and later he realisesd that the car in front of him is actually owned by a driving school.

The person sitting on the driving seat was probably a student who was learning how to drive a car. The person recording the video was surprsied as it is not usual for a driving school to make their students learn how to drive in a luxury car like this. The SUV was passing through the busy city roads while maintaining a constant speed.

Driving school cars in India are actually modified in such a manner that the instructor sitting on the co-driver seat also has the clutch and brake controls. This is to correct any mistake that the learner driver may do while he or she is learning. Another noticeable thing is that this is an automatic car.

Usually we have seen driving schools in India go for manual transmission vehicles as this is much more common preferance of an Indian car buyer. By driving a manual transmission, the driver can gain better control on the clutch and can drive out of tricky situations. However with rise in popularity of automatic cars, there is a need to make people learn how to drive them.

Many who have learned how to drive a car in a manual car are not confident at driving an automatic. They often don’t know the right way to do it. When driving an automatic car, your left foot is completely free as there is no clutch pedal. All you have to do is just control the accelerator and brakes using the right foot.

Using both your feet to drive an automatic car can lead to confusion and accidents. It is to avoid these confusion that one needs to learn how to drive an automatic transmission car. There are several automatic cars available in the market that are cheaper than the BMW X3 seen here.

We are assuming that the driving school bought a used BMW X3 SUV from Delhi NCR region at a very affordable price and then got the car registered in Kerala and added it to his fleet of car.

This is also a very good marketing strategy as people on the road would notice the X3 with driving school board. Anyone who is interested in learning how to drive would inquire about this driving school as he or she would get to drive a BMW for weeks.
