Musician Stopped For Helmet-Less Riding: MVD Officer And Musician Start Making Music Together [Video]

Riding a two-wheeler without a helmet is illegal, and if a cop spots you on the road riding a two-wheeler without a helmet, he can actually stop you and issue a challan. However, we often come across videos where cops take a different approach to punish the offenders. Here we have a video of an MVD officer who made a biker sing on the road for not wearing a helmet while riding a bike.
The video has been shared by Ramu GSV on his X profile. The video was recorded somewhere in Kerala. Kerala MVD is infamous for being strict and taking action against traffic violations. In this video, we see an MVD officer stop a biker who was travelling with a pillion. Both of them were probably not wearing any helmets.
The officer stopped them and, probably during the conversation, realised that the person on the bike was a musician and was carrying a Mridangam, a percussion instrument. The officer who stopped the rider was a Mridangam artist himself, and he asked the rider to start singing. We are not sure if this was part of the punishment or if the officer simply wanted to play the instrument.
We see the officer play the instrument like a professional while the musician recites a classical song. All this was happening on the road. We are not sure if it was another officer present at the spot or a passerby who recorded the video, but it is definitely a good sight to see.
We do hear the officer talk about the consequences of not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler at the beginning of the video. The officer and the offender were definitely enjoying the moment, and it’s not every day you see a cop play an instrument like this on the roadside.
We are not sure if the offender was given a warning and asked to go, or if they actually issued a challan for the offence. The video did go viral, and there are several comments under this post. Some of the comments are: “The police has turned the Fine into Fine Arts”, “This impromptu concert will be remembered forever. ?”, “Hope inspector saab handed over the challan after the performance ?”, and many more.
Riding a motorcycle or a two-wheeler without a helmet is actually very dangerous. It is illegal to ride a bike without a helmet on public roads, and it can easily attract a fine from the concerned authorities.
Why we say a helmet is a must while riding a two-wheeler is because it protects your head from any sort of injury during an accident. When you fall off a two-wheeler, you may hit your head on the road or any other object lying around. If you hit your head on the road, the chances of getting a severe head injury are pretty high.
In India, most people wear helmets just to escape from the cops. Many of them don’t fasten the straps while wearing the helmet — this is also a dangerous thing to do.
