Woman Entrepreneur Takes Delivery Of Brand New New Land Rover Defender [Video]
The Land Rover Defender is among the best-selling luxury SUVs in India. Many celebrities, entrepreneurs, influencers and public figures have already added it to their respective garages. People often share delivery videos of the SUV, which amass massive viewership online. One of these shows the a young woman entrepreneur from Kerala taking delivery of her brand-new SUV.
Kerala's Youngest Woman To Own The Defender (Video)
A video shared online shows the lady- Christina Noble, and her husband Noble, taking delivery of the Defender from Muthoot Land Rover in Kochi, Kerala. The couple owns and runs the St. Mary's Education Trust(SMET International)- a big name in the educational sector. SMET is a consultancy that helps with career advancement services.
Christeena and Noble could possibly be among the youngest entrepreneur couples to own this SUV in Kerala. The video shows them entering the showroom, and being received warmly by the staff. They then receive the key and hamper from the dealer staff and drive the Defender out of the dealer facility. They've chosen the Santorini Black colour for their Defender 110. The couple is seen celebrating the occasion by cutting a cake.
More About The Defender
Land Rover sells the Defender in three body styles- 90,110, and 130. The 90 is the short wheelbase form, 110 is the standard five-door version, and the 130 is the long wheelbase form. It is the 110 that has reached the garage of these young entrepreneurs from Kerala.
This delivery took place in October 2024. The new Defender went on sale in India in 2020. Earlier this year, however, it received a significant update. It added more features to the Defender and also made the V8 engine available to lower variants (X-Dynamic HSE and X) as well. Plus, the price shot up and now stands at 1.39 Crores, ex-showroom.
The feature list now has 14-way heated/cooled electric seats, suede headliner and winged headrests, an updated PiVi Pro infotainment system, more storage in the centre console, and captain seats for the second row.
The current Defender lineup is more streamlined than before. The V8 makes 517bhp on the P525 variant and 425 hp on the P425. In addition to it, the SUV gets a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo petrol and 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder mild-hybrid engines as well. Additionally, the new Defender has electronic air suspension and rides on all-terrain tyres.
Land Rover has introduced several 'option packs' on the new Defender. These are Offroad Pack, Advanced Offroad Pack, Dynamic Handling Pack and the Air Suspension Pack.
Another Young Female Owner Of The Defender
The achievement of this woman entrepreneur is indeed inspiring. There is, however, another young lady who owns the Defender in India- Rasha Thadani, the daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon. The 20 year -old is a popular social media influencer and chose the Pangea Green Metallic as the preferred colour for her SUV. It gets Gloss Black wheels and Black leather interior. She's chosen the HSE variant. Back when she bought it, this variant had an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.1 Crores.
The OCTA Is Meaner!
Land Rover now has the Defender OCTA on sale. It is even more extreme, on both road and off-road runs. The OCTA, available just in the 110 bodystyle, is powered by a BMW-sourced 4.4L twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine which produces 635hp and 750Nm. This is the same unit that does job on the M5. The transmission on offer is an 8-speed automatic unit. The OCTA does 0-100 in just 3.8 seconds and has an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.59 Cr.
